CTF for BF2?

Post by JDsBruceLee »

To all CTF Clans/Players,

With the dissapointment of no CTF in BFV(for some), I think we should take a stance early and petition Dice for CTF in BF2. If as many people as possible could just email dice and express their own feelings on this subject, at least we can get our point across sooner than later. We should be able to have some input in this matter. For those who wish to help in this matter, you should send a mature letter to the email address below. Nothing abusive or derrogative in the email. Just state why CTF should be in BF2. CTF has grown so much in the last year they should consider our requests.

Dice's email: [email protected]

You should try to post this on the official DC forum

I did and not much response over there yet, but it's only been a day. Do you know if PR will code CTF to their mod. I know of a hundred or more servers that play CTF DC mod only. We're one of them. It just a thought for them...

Have your SoR family send their emails and spread the word so we don't miss out like BFV.

I agree, CTF is very fun in BF42, as long as you have good rules and admins.

people would think that ONE more type of gameplay added to a game wouldnt effect anyone much.....depending on what that feature is anyway..

I don't know, but I don't think so since this mod is to be realistic. If you name me one battle where both sides won by taking the other side's flag a couple of times, they might put it in. But otherwise, nope.

It's not the flag itself that makes the game good. It's the teamwork you need to bring it home. Not only worrying about whats chasing you, but whats up ahead that can get you too. It's about the gameplay.

We just did an interview with DICE over at our site http://www.battlefieldcentral.com and it was confirmed there will be no CTF in battlefield 2.

That really sucks. Conquest isn't as challenging to some people who play BF. We have around 1330 sigs on our petition, but it was worth a try. I'll buy BF2 when they get a CTF patch.

The idea could somewhat be modified to suit a more realistic theme. Like capturing an enemy officer and bringing them back safely to your base for interogation.

A personal request here....

Please, please, please, please put CTF in your MOD!
And what's a 6-year-old doing playing such a violent game? He's never going to enjoy kickball when he's screaming "Wallhack" from 2nd base.

Retaking flags over and over again just doesn't cut it for some. CTF takes more teamwork and strategy IMHO. Making sure your team gets back to base is more fun.

Yea, CTF would kick ***, but, if you make it, make it so you capture a POW or an officer........ I know it can be modeled, but I have limitations to say what mod has done it, since they are still beta......let's just say it is mostly about the british, it's a DC mod......

Even an old game like Ghost Recon has a Search and Rescue gametype where you have to retrieve PoW's back to your base. It's actually just as fun as CTF.
