The vehicles would have to be then have to be unlocked, which would result with their appearance in the map when unmanned.

And this is hardcoded? There's no way around it?

and can you not make it so that no vehicles show up on the maps (not even the friendly)? that way at least you wouldn't know there is an available jeep around the corner that "just appeared" meaning someone just got out to hunt you.

cplgangster wrote:whats realistic about a .50 cal sitting out in the middle of no where for everyone to use? In a realistic situation weapons like a .50 cal if they needed to be left they would either be damaged beond repair or have parts taken off that would make it un usable with out specialist equipment.
How many times do I have to explain this, for the love of god. Taking out a machine gun emplacement which is pinning down friendlies. Gunner is taken out, 50 cal still ready to be used.

Forgot how 50 cal emplacements HAVE to be next to a firebase? A firebase is not a "random place far out in the field". No. It's a god damn forward operating base, where soldiers continually come from. Why would soldiers want to disable their primary form of base defense???

And I keep fucking saying there's a handful of real life instances of it happening.

EDIT: And yes I am pissed. I've had one of the worst days of my life today, Im not feeling too patient with nobody and nothin.

cplgangster wrote:sorry your making it sound like it is a vehicle not the firebase ones. I still dont support the idea. The reason it is locked to one side is like you say it is a FOB if the enemy have got to your FOB in real life and you are going to be obver run and have to pull out then the .50cal will either come with or be disabled. I think in some rare cases of it happening too quickly maybe have happend but it is rare with conventional forces for the enemy to allow this to happen.
I am sorry about that.

Now if you had some kind of a source to back this up then i would be happy for it it be implemented.
LOL THAT sounds realistic, the enemy is bearing down on you and death is imminent, so let's just drop everything and START DISASSEMBLING THE ONLY THING HOLDING THEM BACK.

Use some common sense dude, comon....

Chris, if ur not in the mood to be polite to people, I suggest you don't come on this forum. Calm down, you don't have to repeat yourself either, its a forum thread not a conversation taking place with hardcore dance music drowning out your voice.

I can't remember why the kit idea wasn't implemented...might have something to do with a max number of kits applicable to vehicles or something.

I think one of the problems with using the enemy 50cals is that people wouldn't want to even put a 50cal down anymore since as soon as they leave the FB an enemy squad could sneak in and pwn them from behind. It might get more people using stealth tactics rather than more teamwork orientated tactics, I'm not sure about that. Not sure if its even codable.

Aye, I need to calm the fuck down....nothing ruins your life more than hearing the girl of your dreams tell your best friend she loves him, right in front of your face.....especially when she KNOWS you want her more than anything else!!!

EDIT: Having a bottle of pure chem lab grade alcohol thrown in your face doesn't help much either, with your eyes feeling like they're on fire and people laughing!!

Goddamn, I needa go make some heads roll in PR. Catch you all later.

I don't need your sympathy or anyone elses. That's just a bit of insight into my day explaining why I'm so damn pissed.

And I still have to link to those real life occurences later, as it's impossible while stuck on my iPod touch. But fuck it, close it. I'm sick of all those opposed to the idea saying things. Hell just delete it, shit idea anyways.

No it isn't
The biggest issue that the developers have is that the BF2 Engine that they have access to is very limited capability wise. Somethings we have now is lucky to be in because of how little of the engine with can play with.
Now if the mod moved on, I'd like to see this idea implemented, seeing as a machine gun is a machine gun

Forgetting about the whole Mini-map thing for a second, would it be possible to do this:

Normal PR

F.A.V:
Drivers seat requires:
Any PLA kit.

Gunners seat requires:
Any PLA kit.

Would it be possible to change to this?

Edited PR
F.A.V:
Drivers seat requires:
Any PLA kit.

Gunners seat requires:
Any PLA kit, Any US kit (or specialist US kit)?
