Re: [Map] Blackout
still too vivid.
the photo you posted up of the forest is clearly enhanced to provide such a crisp green but even then compare the colours and you will see that you map is using far too much Blue in the green, not only does it need desaturating but the colour values also need altering.

Re: [Map] Blackout
wait, the problem so far was only the neon spots. The rest of the not neon grass is as good as any other PR map.
So, in order to solve this problem, can a DEV take this minimap and circle in which spots should be toned down. Then I am going to paint over these and the problem should be gone.
This a deal?

Re: [Map] Blackout
it is all the Neon patches because they simply do not blend in with the rest of the grass.
instead there is a stark contrast between the colours (almost as if you had painted it bright pink instead of green)

Sorry to beat a more than dead horse, cat, but if i was actually flying over that area and saw those green areas from above I'd think, "What the hell happened here?"
The darker terrain with those brighter green spots just doesn't look right.
Overall the map looks ace, however.

Marking of areas:

Alright here we go... As many people has pointed out, there was too much blue component in the grass. Turned the hue of these areas away from the blue spectrum and towards the "orange"... There was even room for a little more saturation, so it can still be a "stronger color", just not with that much blue component.

Result of color edit:
(still some stuff left in between the trees but this should get the point across without me having to mask out a lot of trees.

PS, sorry for the filesizes but I had to ensure that the colors didnt get distorted by compression or whatever.

Re: [Map] Blackout
So here we go.
I am going to reinstall my BF2 Editor files and repaint it now. This is going to hurt. Repainting my wonderful glowing green. *snif*
I am assuming that after I repaint it I am back in business concerning eventual CON status / my map getting considered for PR. If I am not please tell me now, so that I dont do it all for nothing.

Like I said above, you now have no chance as I've gave you too many opportunity and far too much time and you just have been difficult all the way though, which is not what we look for in our team members.cat wrote:I am assuming that after I repaint it I am back in business concerning eventual CON status / my map getting considered for PR. The best you can do is release your maps as a map pack and hope they get played, end of story, again... Can't believe I have to keep on saying this, just like everyone has had to say about the grass...

Re: [Map] Blackout
not so much the map, but just the mapper who's making it, impossible to work with as a team, can't take on feedback at all well from anyone, needs loads of devs and the public to all chip in over a few months posting about a issue over and over again before he considers changing it, and much more. Not someone we are looking for to be on our PR team.HughJass wrote:This map sucks!

Re: [Map] Blackout
Finally the culmination of one of PR's most dramatic soap operas/topics.
It all ends with:
The best you can do is release your maps as a map pack and hope they get played, end of story, again... Can't believe I have to keep on saying this, just like everyone has had to say about the grass...

[quote="cat""]Ok then f*ck this. I am out of here.[/quote]
....
This topic should be an example of how you should not behave like if you're aiming high.
It all ends with:

Re: [Map] Blackout
You guys aren't any better y'know.
In the end, even if he made the right choice, you had to be ******** with him.
You all claim Cat couldn't behave, he had to learn for sure, but you guys are even worse than him! This is ridiculous, I would have never expected that coming from the ''forum-guys'', those that are usually understanding, not 4chan retards.
Thanks for the e-drama too, and for all the idiotic comments like Wilkinson, Hugh and above posted, VERY CONSTRUCTIVE THANKS :
There's a lesson to be learned here, but not only for Cat, for all of you.
Effing e-drama...
/rantend
Alright, whatever, he's gone now.
Let's just hope this kind of incident ever happens again, or else I could expect more from imageboards than this forum.

lol, what an ***...
I'm sure that you wouldn't like it if anybody posted that kind of **** about one of your makings, but you guys obviously feel you have the right to do such against Cat or Cat' map. EVEN after he changed the color.[R-COM]Wilkinson wrote:^^^^^^

I was just being strait with him and giving him the facts, nothing more.Tannhauser wrote:In the end, even if he made the right choice, you had to be ******** with him.
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me on this but I've been doing this job long enough to know what works and what dose not, and having a disruptive member who dose not take direction and refuses to work as part of a team will only do damage to the mod in the long run, even if we got a map out of them.
Anyways I think this has gone on for long enough now, dissension made, end of story.
