you can bring up the squad menu, open your squad, and click on your name. that will turn your marker white.

or you can use the mouse wheel and zoom in, it will center on your player

Its was removed for trial for a few reason:
1. To encourage you to stay with your squad
2. Cut down on loan wolfing
3. Rely on your map navigation skills rather than a magic dot.

This concept will, like all things be refined in the future to be more or less helpful for the player.

Is it just me or is the concept of dots on the map (other than yourself and MAYBE your squad) kind of strange... In a real combat situation you wont have a bunch of magic dots on your map indicating where other members of your team hundreds (or thousands) of meters away from you are. IMO the map should just have your dot on it and maybe the dots of your squad mates. The commanders map should show the location of all the vehicles and all the squad leaders. Any other info on location would need to be communicated through Chat or Voip

while at the same time ordering donuts for the entire platoon!

.... whaaat? i have to get my little bit of idiotic sarcasm in sometime...

Personally, i like the dot better anyways, usually i know where i am to begin with... but thats cause i have a strange memory of remembering exactly what directions i went in... =/ its really weird...

(i do the same thing in a car.. though i hate car maps... so misleading...)

The best way (for me) to see where I am on the map, is to look the dot the current squad order is connected to.

Dont forget that PR is set in the near future and soldiers might be equipped with a personal lean version of the blueforce tracker system :)

And what Dude said. Most of the times you got an order line pointing to your dot :)

I can cope easily with the way the map works just now, and if in the future it gets even harder and dots are taken away, I don't mind, the more challenge the better, use navigation skills and communication. You need to get used to different armys' uniforms. If the removal of the dots does happen, the ability to voip with other squads would help compensate.

There should be no dots at all and topographical map... that would really require some skill in navigation...

I must say i do love the new changes. I would like it to be harder on the player, but this is a good start.

As far as removing any markers, that topic has been discussed in detail, if you're interested in discussing it further, you could revive this old thread, https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... antry.html

But please read the thread first, a lot of debating went on that should be considered before suggesting anything.

what if the map didnt have moving dots what if the map is just updated every so often to make it like GPS or something like that, and to see where you are on the map even a little arrow coming out from the dot to show where you facing would help too.
