Fixing .3
.3 was a great release and added much to this mod. Though unfortunatly, there are many things that keep from these new features from being used fully.
This is thread is not about new things, but about fixing .3, if you have things to add please post.
Hopefully these things will be fixed in a patch.
Single Objective:
- For single-player objective there needs to be something on the mini-map that shows location of object to be blown. Otherwise people have no idea what to do.
- Defending team should have unlimited tickets. All times that I have played attacking team has won by reducing defenders tickets.
- Importance in capturing flags should be reduced.
Exraction:
- For extraction there needs to be an icon on the mini map that shows the target area.
- Need speceial icon for SUV on mini map.
- On Karkand, MEC spawn point near bridge should be removed or moved further back.
Night:
- To many things to list. Though with my experiances with SF, after the initail novelty wears off, people stop playing night maps.
Misc:
- Need new model for SLAM, spec-ops explosive, to replace C4 model. We've all had experiences, I don't think I need to tell you guys why ("I'm going to make a jihad buggy!" ... BOOM!).
- Fires on wrecks doesn't hurt you. Needs to be fixed.
- Converting more maps loading screens so they are uniform.
- Map discriptions need to be edited or added. For instance, the Jabal map description reads: "Jabal Area".
(Note: Idler Island by Dedmon was just finished, maybe it could be included in patch, as well as any other newly finished maps)

Same. And the fires on the wrecks shouldn't hurt you so you can use the vehicles as cover. Broken and busted vehicle wreckage really adds to the game since it provides insta cover on the majority of big levels and makes firefights much more injoyable and fair.

I love the burning vehicles!
Fixes for .3
-Jungle Fever is a laggfest for me. I get no lag on any other maps in normal cercumstances, but jungle fever is unplayable every time.
-Darken the USMC textures slightly in all night maps so they don't glow "like Chernobyl" lol
-I like the LB, but I still want to see the BH on some maps. It offers more protection and firepower.
-Add SPR to Karkand and Mashtuur Night
-HMMWVs need to die with one SRAW. I cant get kills with the AT class anymore (unless I use the pistol to pick off disembarking troops XD)
-All the above ideas are great.
-Add the Brits
I'm loving .3 and keep up all the great work

I remember the original Jungle Fever being a lot darker with fog and more spread out from the TotalBF2 mappack. Why is this one so light and different looking? Did they make a completely new Jungle Fever map or take out the fog and alter this one? The other one was more spread out and better since you didn't spawn so close to the enemy.

Sucks that we got to limit everything back to 1998 graphics. Might as well play turok 2 for nintendo 64. Anyone remember how fun that was to have your enemies run out ~30' away from you next to being invisible.Malik wrote:Fog would be great, would man a draw distance decrease and better performance.![]()
Still at least PR gives me something useful to do with battlefield 2, as the plastic case makes a crappy paperwieght.
