Save the C7A1 front sight I'd say I did pretty good for my first render of someone else's project

For this being your 2nd UV job I'd say you did a pretty good job mate :) I kept a lot of the front sight as you mention. Although I fixed a bit of overlapping UVs and some stretching. The main problem was seams on cylinders. pretty unfortunate to have them out towards the player. Easy to fix though, just use the rotate tool in the viewport and rotate the gizmo around until the green line (seam) is somewhere thats not too noticable (I put it underneath the handguard)

But yea, you are doing great for the early stage you are at :) you'll do fine when with a little more experince in both modeling and UV mapping. Keep at it!

@ Martin, Good job as always :) textures are fitting well with Pride's work!

Great work!

One thing i would say though, is that the barrel on the C7 needs more work to bring it in line with the rest of the gun. Take a look at this, comparing the C7 barrel with the original C8 barrel:

Image

A stronger highlight along the length of the barrel should help alot.

Keep it up!

Oh and Z-Trooper, i had nothing to do with the M-16 series, it's all Vaiski, Millenia and Chucs work ;)

eddie: the MoD aren't just going to start blurring their faces so they look 'well ard' are they?

Ah yea, Just assumed that you didi it as it was using the C7A2's body texture, but yea, of course that was napped from there.. my bad, it was 5-6am when I UV'ed it, was a bit tired :)
