Sniper & Spotter

Post by Elektro »

I saw allot of posts about snipers today so i decided to read them, and I agree to most of them here is an example https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr-suggestions/55282-sniper-aid-rangefinder-2.html

So i decided to make a more precise suggestion :D

Sniper Team

A sniper team typically consists of a sniper and a spotter as described in military doctrines of the United States, Canada and United Kingdom. Both members can perform either role and often rotate between the two. The sniper fires the shot while the spotter assists in observation of targets, atmospheric conditions and handles security of their immediate location and communication with other parties, including directing artillery fire and close air support.

The spotter detects, observes, and assigns targets and watches for the results of the shot. Using his spotting scope, he will also read the wind by using physical indicators and the mirage caused by the heat on the ground. Also, in conjunction with the shooter, he will accurately make calculations for distance, angle shooting (slant range), mil dot related calculations, correction for atmospheric conditions and leads for moving targets.

He also provides the team security, therefore he is usually armed with an assault rifle. It is often the case that the sniper rifle is assigned exclusively to a single person, therefore in the case of rotation the spotter carries two weapons.

Some military doctrines describe a third member known as the flanker. His task is to have observe areas not visible to the sniper or spotter and assist with the team's rear security.

Well that was it :p if you decide to make a spotter kit i suggest you give it an assault rifle, and maybe make it so that the sniper has to be in a squad with a spotter befour he can request the kit ;)

You can use almost any kit as a spotter.

Oh and this is a re-suggestion.

The Spotter Kit could have a deployable scope with extra zoom in it and with if you read my suggestion at the end i say that if you made it so that you need to have a spotter in the squad befour you can get a sniper kit it will prevent people from soloing it

Yes I red that but I'm just saying any kit can be used for the spotting role, sure if you have to have a spotter to have a sniper that would be good but I don't think that's enough to make a new kit.

I operate better alone, like sniping from the castle in Archer. A spotter is typically necessary to observe windage, etc... and make other calculations necessary whereas the sniper is just the trigger man. This is definitely not necessary in PR and I'd be really pissed off if a spotter was required to request a sniper kit. That's just one more silhouette to give your position away.

Just get a squad with a sniper and a marksman

That's the best Sniper/Spotter combo ever

No, no, no a spotter should have a unscoped weapon so that he can protect the sniper if anyone gets to close.
