Radio Audio constant spam!!

Post by Kitoro »

Has anyone noticed that you can't even hear a jet or tank come upon you because of the constant chatter of radio commands?
Have any of you ever wished you could hear a footstep of the enemy without being auditorily spam blasted?
Now here is a question to the experienced modders...
Is there a non-punkbuster abrasive way to MUTE or delete all radio commands excluding maybe a few? Personally i just want to SEE the radio as chat, and focus on VOIP.
I and many others need an option to get lost in the sounds of wizzing bullets and the peaceful sounds of bombs instead of repetitive compressed voice audio being streamed into my game.
Its distracts from my zen in the chaos of war. muHAHHAAAA! And it makes me go crazy.

But seriously we need to get rid of it or something. :-?

Oh my yes! That is so annoying i wish there was an option to turn off the radio chatter. If you guys could turn this off somehow i would be so happy. It ruins my concentration.

Very cool. I remember doing that to bf1942 without any punkbuster issues. Had to unpack the file and replace all and rename all with a mute wav. But you'll probally be making it optional which will probally be good.

Thanks for the quick reply

I think the best solution would be to have squads on permanent radio contact, and team mates only display the chat message, or if they're in close proximity you can hear them radioing their squad or whatever, just as you can hear the enemy shouting. It's a pain having to share a radio channel with a guy halfway accross the map shouting for ammo, but sometimes you need you need to hear those calls from friendlies running behind you begging for a bandage and it's always nice to say 'Thanks'.
