proxy war?

Post by -=chris=- »

an insurgent vs insurgent battle and instead of the normal pickups they are Russian and us kits for ether side. the assets can be like a few tanks and transports. yet still insurgent vs insurgent.

I've always liked the idea of a "clan" war between two unconventional forces , it would be loads of fun in PR.

Interesting concept...

Almost like a battle between two mujahadeen (probably spelled that wrong)

Sounds... interesting. I suppose it could be very interesting in implementation, but I'm not completely sold just yet. Is this really the sort of thing PR is suited for? What exactly is this simulating? How would the gameplay work out, exactly? Infantry-based or with US/Ru vehicles?

Also, 'Mujahideen' is a transliteration of مجاهدين‎, so while you generally see it as I've spelt it, there's always some leeway, as so far as I know there's no absolutely 'correct' transliteration of Arabic.

Well they would have to make a new ins faction with new models or everyone would look the same.

I think instead they should do Iraqi police or Iraqi army vs Ins.

Perhaps Taliban versus Iraqi Insurgents or Shia Insurgents? I heard that there is a lot of enmity between Shia and Sunni militias going on in various places. We could also take Ramiel, which is centered in Somalia, and create 2 different factions. One with more hardware like the Chechens, but no Suicide attacks, IEDs e.g. The other like the Taliban, but with suicide attacks, IEDs, and ambush methods.

Just a tad... :?

Interesting idea though, sounds like it might be alot of work to essentially play a certain faction that has been given/sold alot of another factions kit though.

If it was done without pickup kits I assume that it'd mean cloning whatever team you wanted to use but with different kit.

Well good point but neither of them are Shia :)

Could be secular insurgency(baathist, nationalist at least something less fundementalist) vs. al queada type insurgency, which actually happened in 2006 afair.Even the US backed the former...
Or Nationalist Afghans(like the general in Afghanistan 2001,forgot the name, might be Rashid Ozbek) vs. Taliban etc.
Or a little suggestion on your suggestion it migh be Al-Queada vs Hezbollah.

Hell you can still give JDAMs to NATO supported faction(happened in 2001 in Afghanistan)

Well i find this idea genius, because it'd be an awesome firefight without scopes(excluding Chechens, because they are represented as an Army in PR)

Most Chechens aren't Sunni OR Shia if I'm correct, as far as I know the majority are Sufi almost called them Kulfi which is a popular brand of South Asian ice cream :p )
