Hey everyone. I'm going to purchase it tomorrow.

Which edition should I buy? There is an Armoured Force, Euro Force and Special force edition.
Do these all work together? Do they all work with Project Reality?

Thanks!

I bought my copy used for $10. A steal.

And I believe I remember hearing that Tactical Gamer's Project Reality server is the #2 most active server in all of Battlefield 2, vanilla, expansions, and mods included. Only behind 24/7 Kakand or something.

That says it all I think.

Youll need regular old Battlefield 2 before special forces since special forces was an addon requiring a copy of BF2. Im not sure about those other two expansions, but yeah, PR needs the basic Battlefield 2 only. The other stuff is fine if you want it, but not needed at all.

Basically, just make sure whatever you get has the install for the original BF2

Yeah, all of those editions will work together, well, they're like individual expansions or add ons for BF2 that you can play separately. None of them will interfere with PR but you don't need any of them.

All you need is vBF2, the other editions you've mentioned here are, from what I've heard, pants.

Standard vBF2 = Red
Armoured fury = Yellow
Euro Force = Blue
Special Forces = Green

Just get the red one!

Yeah if you don't wanna play original arcadey BF2 you won't wanna spend the extra few Dollars (what is your currency there by the way, is it the Korean Dollar or something like that?) on the expansion packs, just need plain old BF2 like everyone's said.

The reason I didn't buy BF2 is because I'm not a huge fan of unrealistic FPS games and always prefer something realistic over something that is not. That, and between all the other games I was/am playing, BF2 never seemed to be all that important or worth buying.

I discovered this mod through the ModDB awards and I was thoroughly impressed. It looks awesome. I'm going to do some more research--but I have a few initial questions to ask before I look into it any further:

1. Servers? Are there many? I live in Asia, too... are there any populated, US/West Coast servers? I can't be bothered to buy a game if it's dead or sparsely played.
2. How much does BF2 cost right now? Do you think it's worth it?

Thanks a lot =)
There are a good ammount of servers, and the game is always growing.

But with the second part on how much it costs... you can figure that yourself. Don't be lazy

Nah, I was just impatient. I'm at work and every ordering / pricing site known to man is blocked and I didn't want to wait until I got home to check it.

I ordered it so I should get it soon :D
