My thoughts of prmm .3

Post by lonelyjew »

I, if anyone has noticed, have not been able to play prmm in a long time. Between school, work, friends, and other things I haven't had time to play. I finally had a bit of time(I had to blow off working on a project for a bit) to play and boy was I excited.

First off, I haven't been able to play too much of anything but what I did play was amazing. The new sniper rifle as well as the other sniper rifles finally feel worthy of their titles. The class balances are amazing, now every class is strong. The new scoring system blows my mind and I love it to death. I love how it encourages teamplay and living rather than killing and scoring points. The one new map I had never played before(the night one) was made extremely well. The night vision and binoculars are great as well. I can go on and on and on about everything I loved about this outstanding new version.

The only bad thing is since I left very many people from vanilla have migrated to the mod. This isn't a bad thing overall, but with the standard vanilla players comes the trash. The one tk I got in the whole round was obviously an accident(I nailed a guy from very far away with the tank .50 before his name came up) I apologized for and got punished well after the guy read the apology. This kind of stuff gets me hotheaded so I called the guy a prick. He told me to learn how to play and I told him to go back to vanilla if he didn't want to be a team player. He then tried to insult me by saying "you're a team player? look at your rank" which got me furious. I told him up until he punished me I was in first place and my rank was low because I hadn't played forever. He then tried to insult my sk177z again and I told him I was still doing much better than him at which point he tried to play it off by saying "what does it matter anyway." I'm sorry for going on a rant but I wish we could just go back to the good old days where us vets worked happily together, listened to orders, and never ever punished or tk'd out of spite.

Besides some of the players you guys at prmm have done an amazing job. I don't know how many times I've thanked you for making such an outstanding mod for us little people but I'll say thanks again. Hell, if DICE was smart they'de just ship copies of prmm rather than BF2 and let vanilla be a mod.

The bad vBF2 players will not stand the squad hop penalties (PRMM players won't need to worry, because we do like teamplay :P ) and respawn timer increments. They will soon go back to mommy and keep playing vBF2 ;)

I know this is SERIOUSLY off topic, but yesterday, I was playing on Muttrah city(which is AWSUM) and I was having some serious connection problems. Turns out, I had an average ping of 1033. But when I switched back to the 'nilla version, my connection was fine. Can anyone explain this?

EA made the base engine lol.
But really i have no idea how you would get 1033 ping on PR and normal on Vanilla my guess is one of those random things.

I don't know but from my marketing back ground we should envite these so called Vanilla Battlefield 2 players and show them how much fun they can have when working togather as a team. Sure .3 has come out and some of the servers are full again (TC is going really well!) but soon that will slow down. We are missing the whole point; a Great Mod for people to enjoy. We should be capturing these new players and showing them how to play. One of the DEVs in the devs section was saying how he took a couple of new players aside and showed them some basic game play... now they are life long players. Everyone should be doing this.

I've been getting more punishes recently. I was sniping on a city map, and somehow I mistook a team mate for an enemy (was a mile away and my graphics and resolution are pretty low). I took a shot and downed him. I said sorry, but I got punished. I asked him why he did it and he started the mutiny vote. It's really frustrating when that happened, if I intended to teamkill him I'd have taken out half the team too, but no, I was just shooting with the intention of helping my team and that's what thanks I get.

I spammed "I need ammo!" about 20 times while standing in front of him and shooting at his feet. I think most of the assault guys haven't figured out they have the ammo bags now. :|
