Man spacemanc you're amazing! Any chance of this becoming a vehicle one day? Would that require more modelling or coding? just curious.

Re: [Vehicle Model] Mercedes W123 [WIP]

As I said the headlights are temporary, and the grille only comes to 128 polys, so its worth modelling it for the extra detail. Ive spent more time on the details as it might be used as a drivable vehicle now
PS : Tann - To make it drivable it would need to be coded, exported and also the texturing works in a different way. I personally dont have time for that atm, as Ive got lots of statics to make, and a map to finish!

The EA models were actually great in all aspects, for their time. 64 players running around, lots of vehicles, lots of bullets, lots of fast gaming and lots of environment.Cpl.Small wrote:nice work spacemani think this would b alot better than silly EA models

People are always putting down their work, but they are professionals and made it run extremly smooth for the level of detail on everything.
Sorry for the rant
space, looking great, but I think I've told you that more than once already

Re: [Vehicle Model] Mercedes W123 [WIP]
Its finished!

Ive not made any glass for it, because apparently bf2 uses bundled meshes or something, so I have to look into how to do that.
Also the models not been optimised at all. It comes to just over 3500 polys at the moment, but the temporary headlights make up 400 polys, and also I totally over modelled the seats, so they came to almost 800 polys.
Hopefully after I optimise it, it should come to around 2500 polys. ( Im not sure how many polys the windows will come to )
Ive not used max for almost a year since I made the helicopter, so a big thank you to Z-Tropper, for being my on-line 3dsmax user manual

If I knew how to I would! Im a bit of a beginner at 3ds max. This is only the third model that Ive made. My first model was a helicopter, and the second was a 30 poly signboard.Tomato_With_A_Rifle wrote:Very nice! could we get some fancy renders?![]()

no problemo mate, you were an easy apprentice
will take a look at it when I get home from uni and come with suggestions for optimizing and further refinements.

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth
