I know the UAV is taken out because it's not realistic but how about to put the the Raven in as an UAV.
You can make a asset at the Coalition main base where somebody can enter and can control the Raven by seeing through a view similar to the Apache HUD. And control the Raven whit regular controles. But because it got no exhaust the insurgents can shoot it down whit AA but because it's not armoured it should be so hard for the insurgents to shoot it down
"Goddam it, you'll never get the Purple Heart hiding in a foxhole! Follow me!" Captain Henry P. Jim Crowe
what i had in mind for it though was as a commnder deployable asset (like vBF2) however, its doesn't show read blips on the map like vBF2, instead the commander can view the UAVs camera, he doesn't control its flight pattern it will circle above where he deployed it, but he'll have the ability to pan the camera some what and then zoom in and out a little. Then if possible if it is shot down then it has a massive 'recharge' time, because i dont think they come cheap! also if it could be worked so that whilst in the command post the commander can toggle between his usual view and UAV view then that'd be quite handy
the only reason i say commander is because
a) gives him something to do
b) doesn't take a potential combat player out of the front lines.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

No a UAV is very realistic in modern warfare, the reason why it was taken out is because the way it is ingame, with it having a little radar on it that can even pick up a guy 20m under ground in a bunker or w/e made it unrealistic and we simply do not have enough players ingame to put it in in a realistic fashion for the most part.
