Now i love being the co-pilot in the tornado and i'm good with it's LG and LT weapons but i wish it had a designator on it so when i fly over i can fire a laser and wont be guided by my crosshair like in the Helo's. So if i want to hit a building or a firebase I just need to get the crosshair on it and fire the laser which will go strait onto it so in the second pass i can take it out with one shot instead of having to fire a bomb or missile and hope i hit it dead on which is easy to get close but hard to hit perfectly. Also this does keep it real since aircraft can have designators aboard them.
Also because the lasers move so slow it would be hard to hit a mobile target after firing the laser because you would have to be so accurate. Also by the time you know the laser is on target you would have overshot it making the missiles or bombs go over it.
Laser for the Tornado co-pilot.

That's exactly what I said
Though, in your defense, you did misunderstand my suggestion, it seems.

Well i made this before i read yours. plus the Ideas is to give the tornado and any other future 2 seaters the ability to laser targets. Also you could give other jet aircraft this ability to which is still realistic.

Its actually more realistic to just lock onto the vehicle themselves, rather than a slow inaccurate sticky box that doesn´t represent anything near a fast beam of light.

"oh, they're fire and forget all right...they're fired then they forget where the target is"

well not really also that wouldn't work if you want to knock out a firebase or fortified enemy position like a destructible building.

Thats where the soflam/guided mode comes in. You could probably have lasers on firebases anyway.
