Re: |TG| TacticalGamer.com (USA)
Was on the server today, and we were playing Kashan Desert.
I had my infantry squad set up position to the east of the south village at the beginning of the game, banking that my team would take the bunkers and we would just rush in to an undefended position.
Soon we had taken north bunker, and we had two squads capping south bunker, when I was kicked for 1 minute.
The reason didn't talk about why I was kicked, it just said I should talk with the TacticalGamer.com folks if I had a problem.
I assume I was kicked for not helping out the team at the South Bunkers, even though they had already secured the position and my plan was more strategically sound.
If any of the admins at that time, or more preferably, the admin who kicked me, could tell me why, I would appreciate it.

Sounds like you didn't really do anything wrong. More likely than not, you were probably kicked for a Supporting Member, people who help pay for the cost of the server.Duckmeister| wrote:Was on the server today, and we were playing Kashan Desert.

Okay, that makes sense.MarineSeaknight wrote:Sounds like you didn't really do anything wrong. More likely than not, you were probably kicked for a Supporting Member, people who help pay for the cost of the server.
It was just really, really annoying because all that stuff I'd worked for with my squad had been lost, and even if I came back to the server it wouldn't be the same.
We had a really good game going to, too bad it was lost.
I know that the server wouldn't be there without supporting members, but it's annoying when your game is ruined because of one.
No worries though, it's better to have a few ruined games and tons of great ones that no games from your server at all. So keep up the good work!
Maybe you could set up a system where the lowest scoring member of a team gets kicked for the supporting member. At that point in the game I had the highest score on my team, so that would prevent that stuff from happening in the future.

And by "the system", he means that currently our server automatically kicks the longest playing player for Supporting Members. Personally, I think that it's the fairest way to implement it.'[SP-DEV wrote:creepin;964564']well, lowest score could also mean that that person hasn't been able to play at all yet.
the system right now is good enough.
and admins have discussed that for years and it stays like it is now..

Re: |TG| TacticalGamer.com (USA)
We have considered countless ways for the script to decide who to kick, and we decided that the longest-playing player is the best decision.Duckmeister| wrote:Maybe you could set up a system where the lowest scoring member of a team gets kicked for the supporting member. Here are some arguments made in the past-
"Don't kick pilots"
Reason: Kit-discriminant kicking would be hard to code, if it was possible. Also, if that were the case then everyone would decide to get a pilot kit and try to fly
"Don't kick SLs"
Reason: Then we get tons of people who don't care about leading a squad being squad leaders just so they don't get kicked.
"Kick lowest score first"
Reason: Points are still a joke in PR. Your most important person could be dropping mines for area-denial, or flying helicopters, or driving the logi truck, blowing up bridges but still not getting any points. Another reason is that people will get kicked right after they finally get in because they started with zero points, then a Supporting Member joined. They get zero exposure to TG, and get frustrated.
"Don't kick crewmen"
Reason: See "Don't kick pilots"
"Don't kick highest-score"
Reason: We would see a bunch of point-whores. Again, the point system in PR is a joke.
"Kick people who don't play as a team"
Reason: There is no way an automated script can tell who is a teamplayer.
"Don't kick commanders"
Reason: Difficult to code, and we would see a bunch of tard commanders.
"Don't kick me, you douchebags"
Reason: No, we won't kick you. We will ban you.
(psst... That last one was primarily for comedic effect)
The script kicks whoever has been playing on the server the longest. It is the most fair basis for kicking that anyone can come up with. It kicks people who have had the most exposure to TG, so people who recently joined can get their fill.
I'm glad you had a great time on our server, I hope to see you come back!

Re: |TG| TacticalGamer.com (USA)
If the script kicks the player with the longest playing time, and I started along with about 40 other people from the beginning of the round, why was I kicked and not someone else? Does it become random when the highest playing time is shared across multiple players?

The time that the script records is from the moment you join the server, not the moment the round begins.Duckmeister| wrote:If the script kicks the player with the longest playing time, and I started along with about 40 other people from the beginning of the round, why was I kicked and not someone else? the server is full at 62/64. the last 2 spots are reserved for supporting members. If you try to join the server when it is at 62/64 you get the message you got. try again when it is at 61/64 and you should be able to get in.

Keep in mind that anyone can put on the |TG| tag, so sometimes we get people who aren't representive of the "TG way" of playing who put on the tag anyway.=BTB= LoftyB wrote:was on this server tonight, think the map was either Jabal, or Muttrah to find two (2) |TG| guys were destroyin assets on the carrier, wasting choppers, destroyin assets on carrier. names are |TG|BloodOxide and |TG|Maniac302. i have an SS of them destroyin crates on carrier
Thanks for taking screenshots though, a good thing to do would be to report it by clicking on the Contact an Admin link in my signature and start a thread.

If they aren't |TG| members, i am willing to give the server another try. if they are |TG| members, they need to be dealt with. i understand that anyone can put on clan tags and claim to be part of a clan, if anybody did this with our clan, id be unhappy.
thanks for the reply, just thought i should bering this to your attention
