More real Night Vision

Post by lilstarfish »

Hi forum and Dev team!

Here comes a lil suggestion for the Night Vision goggles.

At the moment the night vision is quite weak, like some of the old
russian goggles available everywhere.

You may want to check out the real deal:

AN/PVS-7D generation 3 U.S. military night vision Goggle / Binocular system - NVG
http://www.imaging1.com/nightvision/AN_PVS.html

Check out the demo video showing off the different vision settings:

In night maps like Karkand where the moon is up in addition to the street lights the Night Vision should give you daylight like feedback.

Again check the demo video above which is shot in Egypt at night with a moon slightly overcast with clouds.

Many thanks for a really great mod. =)

Keep up the good work!

I think whats more of an issue at the moment is trying to fix player models that for some reason glow in the dark.

you don't really need night vision in a lot of areas simply because player models have this light ilumination on them.

the glow in the dark is bad. as is the fact that textures don't really show up properly. i find it easier to detect enemies in night mode due to these glitches.

Yeah the radioactive glow bothers me a lot too makes it way too easy to spot people.

Man if your gonna model nightvision, at least go with the 14's, and not the 7 deltas.
