ragdoll

Post by rampo »

Ive noticed that when someones shot in PR(goes 4 vanilla also) the ragdoll feature makes the bodies kinda jump and have theyre arms swing around weirdly. Now im wondering if theres any way to faithen this effect by maby making the bodies more heavier??? or is there another way because i really hate it...(NOTE: I HAVE NO IDEA OF CODING AND AM A COMPLETE IDIOT)

Was suggested yesterday - Dev's said they would look into making the bodies heavier.

wouldn't that mean it would be harder to push them as medic? or would the medic's "push power" be increased too?

couldn't they just increase the force of the medic's push to counterbalance it?

Yah I think thats what will have to happen.

Its still funny how bodies fly like 20-30 feet in the air when you drop a nade in.

Devs said in the suggestion forum that they haven't really messed with the ragdoll system but it is possible, I don't think its on there top list of things to do, as it doesn't really take much out of the gameplay, I doubt the physics are going to be super awesome anyways its bf2, I much rather see them fix the physics of tanks sliding down 2 inch inclines.

When Bf2 first came out, the first thing i notcied was the ragdol leffect when they die, I though to myself, damn thats ugly, the only thing I didnt like with the game. My favorite death effect is in Americas Army (AA), its when you just lay there in prone position and when you get shot you just drop the weapon and falls to sleep, hehe, or when you run across a road and getting hit you just fall down flat on your face. The Gruesome reality. It would actually feel more realistic and gruesome if it was like that in PR but the Bf2 effect is hella fun.

Americas army doesn't have rag dolls but predefined death animations like some kind of 1998 game. I would much rather prefer crappy rag dolls than predefined death animations.

It had. When you where on a stairs your hand could just wobble over the edge or your entire boddy would tumble over.

Ontopic: yes the ragdoll settings are one of the last things refering back to bf2 'nilla

There are games with a mix of animation and ragdoll. Which is pretty awesome - the movement is pre-animated, but still reacts on objects in the way. Sadly BF2 only has simple ragdoll, and the settings of that seem to be pretty unfinished. Well, maybe PR can fix that.

Then you should inform an admin that a marine got killed on the carrier, which indicates either a teamkill or baserape. Even though it's Vanilla.
