Yugoslav wars...

Hi there...
i am surprised that there are no scenarios from Yugoslav wars
There are many great battles that were fought in Croatia...
For instance, "Battle of Vukovar", "Battle for Dalmatia", "Siege of Dubrovnik","Operation Storm","Operation Summer 95"..

This battle could be perfectly recreated in BF2, because this was the type of war we fought.
Squads of 6-10 men guarding strategic positions in a city (a road or an object) with light and heavy AT weapons, with few machine gunners a sniper and a medic, expecting the Yugoslav army to walk with their tanks and armor into our traps

M-84 (Croatia &Yugoslavia)

3-4 new vehicles
M-80A Light armored Transport (1 20 mm gun and 3 "Malyutkas"
M-60P armored transporter (has machine gun and M-60 anti tank recoilless gun)
BOV-VP (Light transport - unarmed)
Yugo car (croatia) - personal car
BOV-3 - light AA

4 new factions (but just 2 nations, that means only 2 voicepacks= serbian, croatian)

JNA "Jugoslavenska Narodna Armija"(Yugoslav Peoples Army) - Serbian elite army
ZNG"Zbor Narodne Garde" (Croatian National Guard) - croatian militia
HV "Hrvatska Vojska" - Croatian elite army
VSK "Vojska Srpske Krajine" (Army of Serbian Krajina) - serbian paramilitaries

3 or 4 maps
Vukovar for "Battle of Vukovar"

Amon what are you waiting for. Start working with models, skins, UV, buidlings that fits surely you would not use middel eastern buildings in east europe. Surely its hell lot of work with everything its not just some weapons as you need a map that can take upto 1 year to make. You will need vehicles and all sort of models.

1. Is it worth it?

The mod team has limited means and can only set out for so many ends. While adding the ultra-elite counter terrorist Vatican Swiss Guards as a new faction would be cool, ultimately it would require an awful lot of time and add little to our mod.

Is the time used on it really worth the devs time. Surely start a community faction and get into mod it, because surely it wont be made by itself.

1. I agree, i know the "Project Reality" creators don't have time to make this, i just wanted to give you an idea how this would look like and if you want this?... cos its hell allot of work
so we need to now if it pays of to build it... Just watch the videos i posted, you'll get an idea how this will look like and maybe learn some valuable lessons how to fight against an overwhelming enemy

2. Where can i find willing people to help us... i now the basics of modding a game, but i'm not a "modding guru". I will try to assemble people, but to get such maps as in PR we would need someone who knows allot to get the maps to PR standard

and one question, if we make it good, i mean "REALY GOOD" will it get integrated into PR?

PS, i will notify you in few days if i gather "troops" who are willing to help me to get this mod started, than i can make a community faction thread and get to work

I think the 2 most crucial factors in making a mod are "The idea" of realizing it and the "will to make it"... The will must not fade... Or else we are screwed...

i am sry if i offended anyone with my post, please point out the offending text and il remove it... i am politically neutral, i picked the "Heroes of Vukovar" documentary because it has a English translation and it show how the battle went, how the soldiers were caring this burden... Not just Croatian but also the JNA soldiers... this mod will be politically neutral, it will be made by Croats and Serbs...

Once again, sry if i offended anyone... please point out what shall be removed...

If you mean that Iranian Special forces game it is not comparable. Because PR is a free mod. And what do you think Americas Army is?
And the yugoslav wars was not really about Nazis and communists.

I think we should start by contacting Operation Peacekeeper (BF2 mod), and asking if we can borrow some of their models. From there we can modify vehicles/weapons to make it fit PR.

You forgot Mig-21 for yugo also and MIG-29 for Yugo, croatia did not aquire any mig29s

Not to mention the mi-24 Hind chopper for yugo (serbia) and they have gazelles for recon, spec ops..

croatia has some transport choppers mi-17 dont know if they are armed versions.

M-95 Degman tank wasnt existant during the earlier wars and currenty croatia only has two. They have numerous m84 ex yugo tanks however.

I think this is a good idea! I suggested it once before but didnt get as much of a response as you did! If we were to place it in near future , the factions could be Croatia Army / Serbia army (was the JNA), weapons and armor are the same as Croatia factions and Yugoslavian (JNA) (VSK) factions mentioned.

ALSO very important.Dont add UCK aka kosovo liberation army (they dont exist nemore, serbia takes care of its terrorists) into these factions we might as well use the insurgents / taliban / terrorist model,same thing!!!... serious...
