Re: How Much would you pay?
I did pay for this mod. I paid around US $25 for it.
I discovered it as I was looking for something else to play to hold me over for other games I'm looking forward to. I'm bored of every other game I own and I needed something new.
I found out about PR, watched a few videos and I knew I wanted it.
So I went and bought a copy of BF2 solely for PR. I haven't even fired BF2 up once.

Where and when did you pay for it? This mod is not supposed to cost a thing. Did you buy it form some download site or something? As far as I know man this mod is 100% free.Incognito84 wrote:I did pay for this mod. I paid around US $25 for it.

You're right. Sorry about the ambiguity. I bought BF2 in order to play PR2.So I went and bought a copy of BF2 solely for PR. I haven't even fired BF2 up once.
I think he's referring to this when he says he paid.
Yeah, it's a free ride up until your 18th birthday. Then you have to work for your games (which actually makes them more enjoyable).im a very cheap person so ima tell u right now I'm not paying sh*t for PR....thats my parents job lol

Sorry to hear your disappointed, however we are trying to find a balance, for "everyone" to enjoy.Rico11b wrote: I've been so busy with family and work that I only had time to test the first two (2) test build releases, so I missed the test sessions for the major changes that came afterward. Not that my input would have changed anything because it is obvious that certain R-Devs either don't know **** about what is takes to make a game seem realistc, or are not interested in "REAL" reality at all. But I gotta say I am HIGHLY "let down" by this latest .856 release.
Times change, and the reason we are where we are, is because we are constantly assessing gameplay, and no not every release is perfect, however - I would not say it is a "mess" the DEV's have worked unbelievably hard on this release - even burning theirselves out, but thats your view of course. It pains me to think that some of the R-DEVs that I personally know and love had a hand in this mess. I know I've been away for a bit, but come on. What were ya thinking? This is NOT reality, not even close. Not anything close to what it once was.
As a serving member, I know its not reality ........... and if it where reality, it would be boring ... as 80% of daily patrols on operational tours do not even come into contact, thats REALITY !!As a combat veteran I'm highly insulted that the PR gaming public has been led to believe that this is in some way a reflection of reality.
How do you actually make a "game" real .... firstly you turn it into a combat simulator, and not a game ???
PR is a "game" to enjoy aswell.
Sorry to hear you feel that way, but yes times move on I suppose, and each to their ownThanks for the memories guys , I'll part quietly and take those with me.
Signed

Hey Uk_Force, dont let the realism freaks get to you. Us casual gamers spend much more time ingame anyway.
I think youre getting very close to that magical balance between gameplay and realism. Keep up the good work.
Or you could say that you use realism to enhance gameplay.
I dont understand why the realism freaks are playing a bf2 mod in the first place. Arma anyone??

Yes, I've never said this about any game before: I think PR has struck that magical chord between the two. It's realistic in all the right ways and fun in all the right ways.Drake wrote:Hey Uk_Force, dont let the realism freaks get to you. Us casual gamers spend much more time ingame anyway.

I'd be ready to pay even 60$ for Project Reality, such a good game. Also for the fact that's also around the same price what the PS2 games costed when I used to play (buy) 'em. Now I've got a nice pile of them.
Atm I'm 100% broke.
All the best,

$60+
because its only ~50 euro

@spybaz:
that could sound strange :/
i would definatly pay more for a really good and consequend Anti Cheat Tool...
like Aequitas.. it should be installed on every PC and automatically stream to PB or EA games or so!

Re: How Much would you pay?
I enjoy PR and the devs certainly did an amazing job in molding BF2 into a game that's playable for simulation fans. However at the end of the day it's still an EA engine that was intended for an arcade based military shooter, so with games like ArmA2 and OF2 coming out soon I'm not so sure I'd pay for PR. It's an amazing game to have and play free of charge, but due to the engine being used there's certain unavoidable arcade elements to the game still. I would definitely like to see what these guys could do if they could possibly build their own engine or use an engine more sophisticated than the one used in BF2.

I think they wouldnt do that much different. As they keep saying themselves: We will let Arma, Arma2 and OF2 do the milsimming. We just want to make a game with a big realism factor in it.TactiKill wrote:I enjoy PR and the devs certainly did an amazing job in molding BF2 into a game that's playable for simulation fans. Simple answer: No entrance exam, I'd do something else. Way too many morons out there.

Re: How Much would you pay?
Considering this is a mod, I think 40 bucks is a fair price, as well as a price for a standalone game. I think 60 bucks for new games now is pretty rediculous. I understand that production values have greatly increased over the last few years though.
On a random note: Is armA 3 going to be free?

PR is a mod through and through. Mods are meant to be free. If it was a total conversion with all original assets and gameplay, maybe then, but PR just makes BF2 alot better through tweaks and massive gameplay adjustments.

It should remain free, I'm not paying for something that was free in the first place. To Whomever thought of this: I hate you.
Well now that orlandolukas is pissed off enough, I would pay 50 buckaroos, but only 45 Euros.
This Mod is what I thought BF2 was, and I am damn happy to play for Free. Plus I'm a cheap *******-student who cant pay for much as it is.
