Chopper explosions
What would be soooo cool (but really difficult) Is instead of helicopters just exploding from RPGs, they should lose their Rear rotars and spin out of control. And maybe, if it hits the floor, instead of blowing to hell there, it should reduce all the particapants to half, maybe quarter health.
Its just an idea, it would look really cool and above all VERY realistic. I know it would be hard but what are your opinions on it, and is it possible?

You have been watching too much BlackHawk Down. If i hit a helicopter in the cabin area with an Eryx i dont expect the tail rotor to fly off.Kakashi wrote:Is instead of helicopters just exploding from RPGs, they should lose their Rear rotars and spin out of control.

Yeah which is the most realistic war movie out, since its a TRUE STORY, and even the people who where in mogadishu said, that BHD was really similar, if not exactly like their experiences. You have been watching too much BlackHawk Down
Anyway >_>
If it were to hit the cockpit, then yes explode, but if it hits rotars or tail, it should spin out.

An RPG is not quite the same as an Eryx laddie.Kakashi wrote:Yeah which is the most realistic war movie out, since its a TRUE STORY, and even the people who where in mogadishu said, that BHD was really similar, if not exactly like their experiences.

Also if the RPG went into the cockpit i would exspect the RPG to exsplode and kill the pilots, not for the whole chopper to blow up.

Special effects aside, I do think transport helicopter and boat destruction could use a few changes. Its realistic for a helicopter to explode from a missile, but being riddled with 50 caliber bullets would more likely disable the engines or rotors and cause it to lose control. If it would be possible to cause helicopters to lose power and be forced down by lighter attacks, helicopter passengers could stagger away from a ditch. Also boats exploding and killing everyone with rubber shrapnel from the pressurized gunwhales is a little much as well.
These changes would really help carrier operations on maps like Dalian, assuming the survivors aren't too far from shore.

I hate being stranded at sea. It takes ages to get to land, and very few pilots will listen to my SOS calls and hover for me to hop in. Normally I just put on the cruise control and come back in a few minutes (if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, hold down the forward movement button then press your chat button. Release the forward button and you'll keep moving in that direction until you send or cancel the chat message. Also works with ladders.
).

I see what hes saying.....
Eve of Destruction did something simular back in BF1942, becaue the engine was limited it could only be added as a random occurance, the helicopter would start spinning rapidly and hit the ground, the helicopter would catch fire and explode within a matter of second, just enough for the quickest to get out of the chopper.
This what your talking about?

Instead of the pilot and all passengers being destroyed by one sweeping attack, the occupants would have a chance to survive, and even rescued.

Basically, i think this would make a the transport choppers harder to be a 8 in one death ball, if you see what i mean

Thanks ^_^I like this idea.
Im not familiar with what PHW stands for sorry XD. But the only BF2 forums im joined to are this one and totalbf2.com.Hmm... Kakashi, you from the PHW forums? If not, my mistake.
LOL thats right!Anyway, I think it would be a great idea if possible to implement.
It'd be nice to see those moments when you think you blew
an entire squad out of the air, only to see the slim chance
of survival they had now became your worst fear.
"HAHA i got 8 kills!!, hang on a second...*Sees 8 sillouhettes running from the crash site smoke*, your supposed to be dead!!! *runs*"
