Some days ago I have seen an interesting report about the battle between the British SAS and the "West Side Boys" from Sierra Leone in year 2000. Would be the perfect setup for an upcoming map or maybe also a new type of gameplay. the british forces moved in with 3 chinooks (great possibility to introduce them to PR) and a bunch of infantry and special forces to free the hostages taken by the west-side-boys.
the terrain is a jungle/swamp mix with small cottages and high grass around a mayor river. could be really sweet in PR. also maybe a new gamemode like hostage rescue.
Idea could be like this: 5 guys of the british team are randomly selected to be the hostage at the beginning. the hostages are traped inside houses in a village near the centre of the map.
the british guys have to breach the doors of the cottages and free the hostages and bring em back to mainbase. on the other hand, the insurgents try to get to the village first and kill the hostages.
I thought of it to be a game without capable flags. its all about infantry combat: british start with 200 tickets, insurgent with 300 tickets. each time a hostage get killed, the british get a 20 ticket penalty. so if all 5 hostages get shot, its 100 vs 300 tickets.
BUT if the hostages are rescued, each rescue gives 20 tickets bonus.
so if all 5 hostages get saved its 200 vs. 200 tickets. in this case, the british have a clear advantage because of superior weaponry.
Of course, the hostages do only spawn as hostage once in the beginning. after they have been taken back to mainbase, they are able to get normal infantry-kits and get back into battle.
so it would be a mix of VIP/eskort gamemode and common infantry battle to the bitter end
