Medic defibrilator accuracy prob.

Post by teadaze »

Hi! Been browsing the forum for some weeks but just registered.

I've noticed now with .3 when playing a medic that reviving someone is extremely hard. As in when u try to revive someone with the defibs it rarely works. I usualy have to spend all the battery recharges for one person. And sometimes it doesnt work at all. And they arent lying on a slope or something. This happens when they lie on flat ground and I am prone and I hit the spot on in every angle and still they wont revive.

I have also noticed that the body is still lying there if I get instantly killed, not critically wounded. And medics who come to try to revive me fails since I am dead but the body is still there, making them spend all their battery charges on thin air.
Given this facts I think u guys should either give more recharges, like 10 or 15, since u often have to use 2 or more on each person. This renders the medic class useless when it comes to reviving as it is now.

Also if the problem of body still being around if your killed is a feature to make it more realistic I think u should have something on screen for a medic so they can see if a person is dead or just critically wounded so they dont have to waste their battery charges on nothing making them useless for the squad.

TIA

ps. Awsome mod btw all in all, keep up the great work team!

Note: Compare this to: http://realitymod.com/forum/t6077-night ... itary.html see how much better this post is? :)

I personally haven't experienced this problem.

(although I can't recall using the defibs in 0.3 so far... I'm totally useless)

Think of it this way. Its simulationg having to give multiple jolts to resusitate. Not every person could be resused with one.

Not had any problems, pads out, dive at their body, pause, zap, alive.

Also, you can tell if they are critical as they have a little broken heart icon, if they are dead then they have nothing.

1 question on medics, where do you recharge the defib? I saw in the guide, 'at supply stations' where are these?

Assault kits, with the supply kit can rearm you, or at friendly vehicles.

Heavy Jeeps and APCs can resupply friendly players. If it is not resuppyling you, it is likely out of supplies.

Kind of going off topic is the UAV the only thing that can resupply tanks and APC's?

if so I have to say I dont think its the best idea, a resupply vehicle would be much better.

Make sure you use the defibs from prone, at the chest. Even then it doesn't always work, but I like it like that.

I don't liek the idea of adding more icons above people's heads. Along with the nametags (which I think should be removed), these little healthbars and critical icons clutter up the screen with tons of colors and text that absolutly ruins the immersion of the game. It would be really neat if you could walk up to a downed friendly and "check" his pulse to see if he was alive or not as to prevent wasting charges. I don't know how this would work, but it could be a neat feature and get rid of some of the unnecessary clutter on-screen.

If he had a pulse, you wouldnt defib him would you? "What the... this guys still alive! DIE DIE DIE! *defib* sigh, its always the young ones..."

So. I tried playing some more couple of days ago and I didnt experience the same amount of probs like before. I now went for chest area instead of any body part like in vbf2. Works better but it still sometimes doesnt work.

I still think that a couple of more recharges for the next version for the defibs would be good. So u dont have to resupply after reviving like 3 persons. It first of all makes u rethink who u should revive if u are around your team. Like should I save all my recharges for my squadleader and not revive anyone else in team or outside team etc. Specially if u are nowhere near a assault class person or jeep or supplydrop.

Ah well thanks for the replies and thoughts anyways!
