You must join a squad

Post by Incomplete Spork »

Why do servers use this shitty unworkable thing? Its supposed to enforce teamwork and make people play together but thats a big load of bs. On these servers people make a squad with 1 guy and just do their thing. Nobody except 1 squad will actually work together.

On servers that let you lonewolf or say, I find much more teamwork because people can actually find a good squad and join it, where as on a forced server when you make a squad people will just fill into any random squad so they dont get that message or get kicked.

Theoretically it sounds good but when it actually comes down to it, it just fails. Any server admins want to say why they use this?

Basically servers that have the forced squad join are the servers that have the "blackhole squads"

I doubt there's more teamwork on servers that doesn't enforce this.

Create your own VOIP squad than, and kick anyone who doesn't have voip and who doesn't listen. Problem solved.

Maybe you're right, but generally people would rather join the enforcing one, just look at the forums, most people seems to be teamplayers. And the difference between the squad enforcing servers and the do-what-you-want servers is that you know there'll be squads to join on the enforcing one.

There will be squads, but blackhole squads which go about wasting kits.

Just now I joined the T&T server and there were about 6 squads with 1 or 2 guys in them.

I never have a problem with finding a good squad.

The time is around 1.20 am over here so it's understandable isn't it.

If only PR wasn't a mod for BF2.. so much more could be done.

But anyway, It's nearly impossible to lone wolf in PR anyway. To get any combat kit, you have to have at least 2 people (For Heavy Anti-Tank, Sniper), 3 for more specialized kits (Auto Rifleman, Light Anti-Tank, Marksman).

It's good what they have right now.. but there's some bugs. Sure, people could make a one-man squad and lock it, and lone wolf all they want. But on most maps (insurgency is the best example here), you'll find that one person will make a "Heli" or "Pilot" squad, which will ferry people around the map.

Both require a one man squad.. and it takes away the "pilot" squad structure. Since there's a limit of 6 people in the squad, having one less rifle for a pilot really takes away from the squad.

I agree. Many don't want or can't work with other, but they do take the space from squads. Many times you try to make a squad that communicates, but random loners join just so they can do what ever they want. Yeah you can always kick'em when people don't take orders, but they will just join another squad.

There isn't a way to make people wanna co-operate, you can't force it. We can only hope that people will learn from their mistakes, because nothing is so easy than shooting a loner in the back.

Some people that play PR should be shot, I seem to be a magnet for Idiots or do they just randonmly target anyone i mean the other day i was on barracuda providing CAS and a guy got in my Attack heuy and said take me to this co'ordinate and i said "No this is an attack chopper" so he proned on the deck and shot me out and tried to take my chopper but the admin kicked him before he took off.

Why cant they just go play vanilla or COD where they belong.

when ever i lead a squad i get a few god people then you get the guy who dosnt use voip but still does as he is asked then you get the whiney 12 year old or some on so unfortunate that there voice hasnt broke who goes on about geting the Blessed sniper or Hat Kit and when you say no he gets it, i say i warned you then i kick "IT"
and then out of pure spite "IT" TK's me says some abuse like " i did your Mother" (very original no doubt) and then Shoots his own tank or chopper down and says oohps sorry.

TBH the squad leaders that get the abiding players are lucky, some times i get an awesome squad in a shit team so a couple leave and then thats where the idiots come along. so it is best to go pubbing with a bunch of guys on Xfire and get a squad up.

I usually do roll with a group of friends but when I don't I have to go play with random people. And I have always encountered the worst squads and teamwork on servers that force you to squad up. When people get that message they just join the biggest squad, grab some random kit, and then run around.

At least on a unforced server they can run around and not take up space and the real team players squad up and have a good fun time.

why are people so afraid of the kick button. the kick button is your friend. i never had a bad squad, EVER, because i kick anyone that deserves it. i dont care if it doesnt seem nice, i give everyone a chance, even if they dont have voip if they play well and listen then i wont kick, but i will kick any moron.

Only people who like and perform lonewolfing say things like this.

Normal teamwork-loving PR players don't write threads about it, only lonewolfers

Have you even read the damn thread? Have you ever played with me? No to both of those.

Most the people who post on these forums took the time to register and care about pr. And if you at least do that then you will most likely be a good player.

And I don't like to whore on about stuff like this but I have almost 400 posts. Now if I took the time to post about 300 things related to project reality then I am a dedicated player to it and not a dumbass lone wolf.

Think before you post.

Your starting post was enough, its pretty easy to see your attitude as you describe forcing "shit and bullshit".
"I don't want to join squads, I don't need to listen to anyone, I don't..."

And bashing around with posts is even worse, I've registered one year before you and have less than 60 posts, did I win?

Alot of times on the forced squad servers, instead of just seeing the serious squads, you get a bunch of lonewolfers locking down their 1-2 man squads and running off refusing to even acknowledge your existance.

And there half the team is standing, 1 full ENG VOIP squad, and 8 locked squads with between 1 and 3 people in them.
Apparently everyone else deserves to be kicked then?

Zi8 keep on topic, this isn't an E-peen contest.
And the point of the thread that you obviously missed is "forcing squads creates lonewolf squads".
People will lonewolf either way, cause they're idiots, but if they're not forced to join squads, at least you know the ones who are in squads are serious instead of just noobs who jumped on the first squad that was created, stole some kits and then went off lonewolfing anyway.

Tbh that sounds like an exaggeration.

If you actually join our server when theres a few T&T guys online youll find 2-3 squads led by us. While it seems like we're not working together re ingame chatter.

Youll find that on our teamspeak we're coordinating attacks and squad roles.

After all... we all know a lone wolf soldier who cant access any useful kits by far dominates a fullsquad with a selected kit loadout....

Funny how these said lone soldiers always jump into a squad... pick upa sniper kit.... then go to "PWN" the map.. ahem...(sarcasm ends)
