So how do you perfer people to use VOIP

Role-play it! If you want realism, go all the way!

Role-playing is a bit too geeky, however I'd like some enthusiasm from my squad.

'ROGER, THAT, ENEMY SUSPECTED ON ALPHA 5-2!'

Its not roleplaying, its just... informative... :)

Loud, clear, and concise. :)
I remember when me and isooth were trying too fill the igi server and you nato guys were exactly like that and me and isooth could hear you over mumble. There was only 10 players on. Was funny listening to sooth making fun of you guys :D

EDIT: I'll admit, sometimes role-playing can go to far, like when people need a realistic way to communicate certain inconvience:

Squad member 1: "The enemy has some kind of secret weapon, they're disrupting the flow of time!"
Squad member 2: "What?"
Squad member 1: "Time is flowing in irregular patterns, the world is become stagnant for prolonged periods, and its hindering my ability to fight effectively!"
Squad member 2: "....what?"
Squad member 3: "He's saying he's lagging."
Squad member 1: "Oh"

Sometimes a "realistic" explaination for problem you're encountering is just so stupid its better to admit you're playing a game, even if role-playing is fun.
dude...hilarious

I start by declaring various doomsday scenarios and follow up by firing on car props to "Deny the enemy transportation" with the explanation that it will work, because "I have been assured of this." and then top it off with a "Stay frosty, and FOLLOW MY TRACERS!!!!11one"

I like casual squad members that use VOIP for both gameplay and random stuff :P
For example, when walking a long distance I don't mind my squad talking about random ****, cus it's funny and you get some very ineteresting convos.
But when the **** does hit the fan we get tactical. If i'm squad leading then I will ususally "roleplay"
I guess it comes from me having gone to cadets, but it's Clear and Concise with the right information.

I really Hate when you get kids like that they never play properly and talk about stupid things.

But I love that episode

"Do you want to stay out side and get exersize or do you want to save the world..........................................of warcraft"
"Leave no man behind"

I keep the ingame VOIP mostly serious, not role playing, but serious.

Leave the talk of drunk people and flying pigs to Teamspeak out of respect of anyone we don't know in the squad.

There is no pleasing everyone. Myself included.
Sometimes when I join a squad I think I just joined a bunch of women, all with the mans voice. They don’t shut up, it is constant, going on about something that happened 20 minutes ago. The next time I join a squad you are lucky if one of the SM's give you a grunt when initial introductions are made. And hardly a word is said after that.

I do think that VOIP makes this game, it adds to the characters we are all portraying in the game. It is a component that we as players get to add, we add the soldiers voice, which is pretty cool. Along with the voice we add the intellect, sometimes it is to the soldiers advantage, and sometimes it is not.

I get a real kick out of listening to the different accents, the British, Germans, Australians, Kiwis, and of course Americans especially from the southern states (Texas). I am Canadian.

One other thing, when playing with strangers with unfamiliar names, you only see your SM names for a second or two , then you need to talk to them so you end up getting their names all Fcked up, which usually results in getting the whole message screwed up. I get pretty enthusiastic then.

Oh and last thing I hate when players game names like “Lick-my-nutsack” or something stupid like that. Ok I am off topic.

I don't roleplay, I just try to say concrete stuff. I never met anyone yes-siring or akbaring though. Gotta be funny.

BTW, I just love the accent of the British squadmates. It's somehow comforting to the ears.

I don care, when you are in the game and things get heated most people tend to put some urgency in their voice out of a natural reaction anyways, thats good enough. But going copy or the like to know the other guy got you is nice, else it is like cover me *buddabuddabudda* scramblesforcover, cover me for real this time >.< .
