Add stuff on the vehicles?

I was just looking an the vehicles on pr and they look to damn clean. Why not add some stuff onto them? Would it raise the polys to much?

I mean look how badass this guy is with stuff on him

Like my earlier post with slats, It would most likely be a problem with collision meshes, unless they left the mesh the same and you could just walk through the items on the side(wouldn't be too realistic) But i've definitely seen many posts about this same thing and never followed up on it to see what they did/said.

You don't need to add a mesh to a ruck sack

Those things which are hangin off the side are Ruck sacks, and they usually dont look that good....haha the'res usually straps everywhere...but we basically dont put anything inside the vehicle. but on the upside if an RPG hits the side we're havin cooked MRE's that night :D

Vodniks are gone, soon to be replaced, this chineese have a more suitable, more powerfull vehicle in the works, there is no reason why an uparmoured hummer would be a bad thing.

i think the reason they didnt put random miscelaneous stuff on the vehicles is because it would probably raise the polygon level through the roof for the vehicles thus affecting performance for people with lower end pcs. usually the tanks and apcs already have really high polygon counts. plus iirc theres a limit.

Most customizations of vehicles are customs notice that guy has a roof on his Humvee and walls yet the Humvee behind him doesn't they would have to make many variations or just one which would be unrealistic so I think they are just sticking with the stock military stuff.

Its purely for the looks anyways, they might as well put rucksacks n **** inside of the humvees as well so they don't look so barren and lifeless like a coffin. maybe put some fuzzy dice in the mirror.

Current HMMWV will get owned by GAZ Vodniks, VN3s or VBLs quite easily. Those guys have much more armor and the two first have a bigger gun than the HMMWV, guns that are covered by a full turret unlike the HMMWV.

So TBH, the Uparmored HMMWV is not THAT good, it's just over-glorified by war movies. If I could choose between the HMMWV and a Vodnik or a VN3, i'd get the last two rather than the first.

As for the suggestion, i'm all for it. It makes sense that if they do it IRL, then we should mimmick this aspect ingame. However, modelling is more up to you than them, as this is a rather low-priority aesthetic effect.

Personally I think if your computer cant handle a few more graphics, you need to upgrade your computer. I mean My computer can max out crysis, yet my favorite game remains to be BF2 PR. Really a good computer only needs about 500$ worth of stuff

I was thinking what if we used the ruck sacks on the side of strikers and Duce-n-halfs (which we never use anymore. The only thing we use is LMTV's) as the asset container for the americans

I mean seriously, We could have beautiful graphics in this game. Vanilla sure did. Why should we limit our capabilities because of the simple fact that we have to provide for the turd from 2003 who is too cheap to go out to walmart and buy a 512mb card

I say no because it hasn't got any gameplay relevance, RPG cages might, but this doesn't/

i love this idea, and for all the problems of meshin' and objects being unrealistic or passable through i have to say there must be ways and means and i think that first time modders like i am to become today, would relish the task of customizing main vehicle assests and would allow great diversity to the vehicles e.g. when vehicle respawns could it not be a different variant? Now im not talking massive mg,s but just camo or bags or grates etc. im looking into it now thanx

it would be nice to See Vehicle names spray painted on to them and would the ruck sacks be put on the side of the Defender?
