1920x1080 CTD
Hi there
Having troulbe getting my new monitor to play nice with PR. I have added to my command line so it reads "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080 and the game loads up to the login screen.
When i log in it crashes ( flickers black screen and CTD )
I have left my defult video file untouched so far as I was having no luck adding rem to the vido rez line. This is the other fix for CTD on high rez btw..

hmmmm, are you sure its not meant to be 1920 x 1200? That Res your running is weird.
Plus this is the wrong section of teh forums, you need to post in the Tech support section from now on
Edit, Still wrong section but noticed now your aspect ratio is 16:9... my bad
What about drivers? You updated those? and also what is your refresh rate on that monitor?

That shouldnt make much difference should it EGor as that is a BF2142 code more than BF2 iirc, as BF2 doesnt havewidescreen support.

I fixed it by going to Documents and Settings\Me\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles and deleting the video.con file and restarting bf2.

Its an odd point to crash ( i.e. at login ) b4 i added the rez lines to the target path it would do the same crash apon the games launch b4 it gets to login screen.
So im getting somewhere but not yet ingame

Re: 1920x1080 CTD
i have tried both of those solutions, adding widescreen does nothing for me, and have tried altering and also deleting the vido.con file

Re: 1920x1080 CTD
Works fine for me. I would say replace "+fullscreen 1" with "+widescreen 1" and it should work. To get "true" widescreen support for BF2, you have to run widescreenfixer.exe in the background.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080
imk.cx: PC Projects - Widescreen Fixer
Have to use version 1.32 due to punkbuster...

Re: 1920x1080 CTD
I had the same problem, i run the same screen resolution 24 inch. There is a solution on the forums, i don't recall precisely where or how.
But it had to do what herb fighter suggested, in those video. con files you can set the resolution the game starts up with, set them low to 1024x768 ish, because 1920x1080 isn't in the defaults for bf2.
However there are two folders with those video.con files, profile and a nother obvious one i can't recall now ( don't have bf2 on this pc) i set the res in both to a standard low res to start the game.
After you've started the game in the low res, you can set them to the highest the game allows. Plus of course the command line and the widescreen fixer. Good luck.

Re: 1920x1080 CTD
Just bought a new monitor today and was having the same issues, I know this is a very old post but if anyone is still having issues i fixed it by putting 1920x1080 in the CUSTOM resolution (underneath the dropdown) and it worked!
