Could the Merlin lag be caused by?

Post by FuzzySquirrel »

Merlin lag be caused by it being enter able while not destroyed? Because I remember you could walk inside, and jump into the Pilot's area, I mean no other Chopper is like this and they don't lag. Just thinking out loud :/

Nah, I doubt it's the shape of the model. More likely the ramp that can be moved by the co-pilot.

You mean it's interior collision mesh? It's not just there when it's destroyed, though, so it's not that far-out of a possibility.

Yea, because AFAIK no other heli allows you in side of them Destroyed or not.

Yes, though it's also the only helicopet where you can get inside if it's not destroyed, and you should be flying the thing when it's still alive, amirite? ;)

Unless you were confusing being seated in the passenger seat as being within the vehicle otherwise, because the difference would be in the mesh, afaik.

Ok What I mean is, Because you can enter (Walk inside) it when its alive that could possibly cause the lag, because no other Helicopter has where you can walk inside of it.

Just go to the doors and crouch jump it might not work the first time but you can get inside. but you will die once he takes off.

I used to get Merlin lag, and lag all together and I turned my textures down to medium with everything still on high and I rarely get helicopter lag and never get solider lag.

i was thinking it was the cockpit detail....i have a weak computer to play pr on and all my settings are pretty much on low and still the cockpit looks amazing on the Merlin and I'm no expert on this stuff but it was my guess that the cockpit was to detailed even on low settings.

Nope - because then, the Merlin lag wouldn't disappear if you jumped into the #2 gunner's position on an Apache/APC. And it does. You can get out of a Merlin, hop into the gunner's view of another vehicle, then get back into the Merlin - no lag.

"That's how it starts, Mas, with that warm happy feeling inside. Pretty soon you're rocking in the corner, a full grown dog addict, wondering where your next St Bernand is coming from..." - IAJTHOMAS
"Did they say what he's angry about?" asked Annette Mitchell, 77, of the district, stranded after seeing a double feature of "Piranha 3D" and "The Last Exorcism." - Washington Post

But it could theoretically be produced by the collsion mesh or w/e, right?

EDIT: nvm, didn't understand the statement :p

And you honestly expect a noob not to run and grab your chopper whilst your doing this?
