New Class

Well, i get tired of wasting my breath in making beter AT.
but.
we can make a new class.

Ammo Carrier. (used to suport other classes, exactly AT ones)

Knife
Shovel
SMG 5 clips
9 Ammo Boxes
1 Field dressing (option)
1 Smoke granade (option)
Down there you see the Main Brasilian Armor.

Who carry's 9 boxes of ammo? I guess your comment about the AT class means you want one of these classes to help you spam rockets?

Well i think this sounds realistic, when you say spamming, just make the reload time of the AT, just like they did with the nade, loooonger.... So no spamming. And besides, no battlefield becomes complete without the sound of rockets going over your head, and explosions all around.

Although i feel that spamming with rockets is possible in other ways in PR, i have never seen it. F.Ex. Ammo crate from APC or heli.

But to balance it, 2 ammo boxes is one rocket?

Find a way to balance this, so there is alot of small arms ammo, but not so much heavy armor ammo.

I dont often see real soldiers walking around with 5 LATs on their back anyway.

But very good suggestion, i like this!

The trucks and dedicated transport helicopters come equipped with 1-2 BIG bags of rockets just for you! And if you need even more rockets, light vehicles and apc's also come equipped with a bit smaller bag of rockets, also just for you!

The only thing i've ever needed ammo for in the field that an ammo bag or 2 cant fix is: HAT, LAT and AA. They made those kits only carry 1 rocket for a reason, we really dont need an ammo mule to fill a role in a squad thats not needed.

Humm, maybe an requestable kit, Ammo Specialist or something, Knife, carbine 4+1, 2 nades, smoke, dressing, binocs and a bag, the size of a LAT projectile, wich holds enough time to refill LAT 1 time but cannot refill HAT...ofcourse because of hardcodeness, infantry could get ammo from that too, but SL can easily tell them not to go near.

if im not mistaken, arent certain weapons like javelins deployed in teams of like 2 men or more? like one guy carries the javelin itself, and another guy carries and extra missile? so i can sorta see how maybe a support class like this could work, maybe like a riflemen who carries a heavy AT round he can drop for a heavy at soldier to reload with. but 9 ammo boxes thats just crazy

I do like the idea of an weapons-team assistant, however 9 ammo bags is above and beyond over-kill.

A more suitable loadout woult be:

Assistant Rifleman

1) Knife/zip-tie
2) Shovel
3) [1+6]AssaultRifle/Carbine (G3/M4 Aimpoint, etc)
4) 2x Smoke Grenade
5) 2x Team-coloured smoke
6) 3x Ammo Bag
7) Binoculars
8.) 2x Field Dressing
9) 1x WP grenade

For added Badassness, the kit-geometry would include two belts of MG ammo bound across the character's chest, forming an X.
If not, normal BDU+Webbing(or w/e) with rucksack.

...mongol...

We have not been able to make ammunition boxes that only reload certain weapons (automatic rifles/machine-guns, reusable AT launchers/ATGMs, etc.) but have wanted to since the beginning of the mod.

In the meantime, you have the rifleman kit (that there will probably be more than one of in a squad) with ammunition, which is realistic since every grunt is going to carry some ammunition for the automatic rifle in his team and/or a platoon/company level weapon (GPMG, rocket launcher, light mortar, etc.). 9 ammunition boxes is way over the top; you would have to dump half of it when you got into enemy contact. Also, SMGs have fallen out of favor even among support troops in most conventional armies.

This class is not going to happen.

what about being able to only re-arm certain kits? for example, maybe you cant make an ammo box that can only re-arm heavy at rounds, but can you make a box that can only re-arm a heavy at soldier? i hope this makes sense im not good at putting my thoughts into words

this idea just seems to abstract and unrealistically suggestive of spammers IMPO.

Sounds good, but 9 = overkill. Maybe 2-4, and give him a carbine instead of an SMG. Since SMG's usually only fire 9mm rounds.. which won't penetrate modern vests very well. Make it requestable, so that you don't have like a full squad for 2 HAT's and 4 ammo carriers.

Chuck an ACOG or aim point on it

A Ammo guy is to Valuable to the squad to have him in the trench fighting with you
Give them a good Close quarters weapon, And sit them away, When shit hits the fan, In they come, If he dies, Someone has to grab his kit, And there goes a perfectly good Rifleman

If hes on the front line, And a Sniper sees the MG ammo dangling around his neck, He's gonna blow his head from here to Pakistan

Good suggestion but hardly realistic and who is going to make this mp7? The mod is aiming twords realism, even know we all want some awesome guns to tear up the enemy we have to think realism and balance for all teams.

True, Realism, The Reality of it is, Weapons are powerful, Some more than others
And their being issued regardless if the enemy agrees or disagrees
But like you said, You can't have it overpowered
But the General Idea of making the Ammo Guy NOT a front line trooper is my main kick

Sooooooooooooo..... a guy with a super-1337-ultra-powerful submachinegun with infinite ammo and optics? Who would choose anything else? Ever? It would annihilate everyone and everything. It wouldn't be used for support, it would be the fuckin' pointman of every squad. It's just like the old spec ops kit, only on mega-sterioids.
