#1:What does it kick you for?
#2:Have you updated it?
#3:Have you used cleaned your PB folder?(/EA Games/Battlefield 2/pb)
#4Have you reinstalled PB at all? (Masaq's post.)

Try those and answer anything I didnt or no one else has. then we can help better.

nick20404 wrote:Obviously if its ruining your game you are either hacking or doing something wrong so why not try to fix the problem instead of saying "F IT F'N PUNKBUSTER!!!", there is nothing wrong with punkbuster if there was no one would be using it. You are right I never had an on going problem with PB because when ever I got kicked I looked up the reason why (try google) and there is always a solution.

Besides I wasn't flaming anyone I am telling him to try to fix his problem instead of saying PB sucks and he is going to quit PR. Computers and software usaully require constant updates as the months and years go by so if you are so irritated about updating stuff etc maybe you need a new hobby. I asked what his problem was but he just said random things in an IDC attitude so if he doesn't care about the problem why should anyone else.
PB is the shit mate. Nothing to do with the user or using hacks or anything.

I understand the OP's feelings. I dont think he is mad at PR, but you get PB issues out of the blue more often. I got to play yesterday at lunch time when the kids took a nap. I played on GIB server with no problem at all. Then last night I hooked up with my buds on Vent around 9pm central time. I tried to play for 2hours an 45minutes before I gave up. I never even fired a single round last night. It was a PB handshake issue, an yes I tried to update it but I was up-to-date. Who knows, I might be able to play today with no PB problem but Im sure it will be a night where whatever server I go in, they CTD for everybody. Never fails if we are having a good game.

I had to reinstall punkbuster each time before running PR, then each time before changing server, at some point I had no issues at all, whats up with that ? Punkbuster is zhe weird, at this point a nice raindance would make or break it, maybe its god way of telling us he is angry he got knifed o.O .

If my PC goes into "standby" mode when it wakes up something happens to the punkbuster B app and I have PB issues with kicks if I try to play, I have to restart the PC completely and it usually fixes it, though i'm starting to get "bf2.exe has stopped responding" errors which are a pain

Before you quit.

Uninstall PB, and reinstall it all over again. Then update it.

If that doesn't work...

for handshake failures

click on another server and load a few percent, cancel load in and try get on the server that is giving you the handshake failure, worked for me everytime iv had it

if you getting heartbeat stop are you alt tabing? iv only had it when iv alt tabbed, sometimes if it doesnt kick me straight away it might while loading the next map

well had some fun tonight, yeh right...

the past 40mins have been a mixture of

Corrupted Packets
Heartbeats failing
Handshake failing
packet flow loss
MD5 tool mismatch

done searches on the punkbuster forums and found nothing thats a permanent fix

surely with all the coding geniuses there can be a solution that will have a home grown anti-cheat, so that the unlucky few dont have to put up with PBs shite anymore.

I've had my fair share of PB issues, but most were fixable. The latest one I've been getting a lot is that my PB version is TOO NEW for a lot of servers.

I now know how we can fix all PB issues once and for all:
Stop killing God!!!
You guys he does not like to get knifed, baseraped or run over. He also gets mad when he dies several times without killing someone.
Dont flame him if he flips a chopper.
Just leave him alone!
Let him win!
Its better than getting pwnd by PB  !

MD5 tool mismatch means a file is corrupted and it usaully gives you a file location after it says md5 tool mismatch, you have to post the whole error not just a clip of it or I can't help.

no thats probably all it said, i got that today aswell, no file location nothing just MD5 tool mismatch

the best thing is you can then go somewhere else and get kicked for a different reason or not at all

I know how frustrating it is, I had a period some time ago where I couldn't connect to a server for days. Got the md5 mismatch error everytime.

What finally worked for me was going to the folder EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\pb And just delete all the files in it. Then reinstall PB using pbsetup.

I had to do this everytime before I started PR. Then after a while the problem just went away.

I'm just happy I'm able to play my beloved PR now.

I had to delete my PB file a few days ago to fix it as well but I was getting a O/S problem.

I used PBsetup and PBSVC to fix it.

The way I fixed everything was to uninstall everything and delete everything with bf2, then install bf2+patch and Pr+maps again, then install Punkbuster and update BF2 and then download pbsvc.exe and let that run 1 or 2 times before playing PR "fixes corrupted packetflow" and then whiile in the game you join a random server and cancel map loading at 3-4% and then join the server you gonna play on, "joining another server is fixing handshaking". After that you wont be kicked at all.

People are suggesting deleting the PB folder and reinstall, but I tried that and it didnt work, thats why I suggest reinstall everything. Just take a screenshot of your graphic settings and Controlls and you have nothing to worry about.

@ alvina - I did exactly what you did. After which, I got a whopping 20 hrs of trouble-free PR playing but its back haunting me again permanently now (except I can fight PB now - its just a PITA I have to take measures every time I wanna play PR) :|

I have to repeat pbsvc.exe and joining another server everytime im gonna play, Its pretty weird and it really shouldnt be like that for just playing a game. But it works.
