Helo Shooting.

Now i was watching Top Sniper in military channel like 11 minutes ago and saw they had a challenge were they had to shoot out of a moving helo, and that got me thinking why not see if that can be done in PR using the M-16, M-4, M14, and some other weapons on maps like Jabal and Muttrah. also this would be a good way to take out firebases or hideouts if your using LAT or HAT or even some armor that's causing your team trouble. (I have pulled this off once with HAT in the old game mode VIP by stopping a big red from killing my VIP in Al Basrah. Greatest shot ever for me)

Anyone else ever tried doing this with success.

We tried using AA out of the back of a mec cow chopper. Worked pretty well Also tried C'4ing but I dropped it to soon. I think rifling will be hard! In real life it can be done while the chopper is moving I guess but shooting in game is different.

QFT cyber, with AA/HAT/SAW(just looks cool) its possible, but with others id guess it would be to hard to bother risk the chopper.

I saw that program too, it was definitely cool.

The problem I see is that in the show the helo's were flying in the open above the targets and that'll get you blown out of the sky in PR. But I still think you should be able to shoot out of the helo if you want to try it.

This got banned from a few servers because it was too effective (the AA out of the cow). I liked toing it too. HAT off the side of an OH6 on Qwai is nothing short of epic win too.

Had a sniper shoot a couple of guys from a LB on Karbala once. Huge risk to the chopper though even flying high, as it had to be hovering for a longish period, so we stopped after a couple of RPGs got too close for comfort.

Well the idea is to have the chopper moving as you take your shots at the enemy because as they said on the show it's to risky for choppers and their crews to hover.

I once was using a black hawk on Kashan as mobile anti air platform. Shot down both the Mig and Frog in one outing- and they thought I was a harmless little old black hawk.

I was palying as insurgent, and 3 of us set up an ambush and waited...then a LB came, 300-400 meters away with sniper on the side...he was hitting near us...maybe if the chopper stood totally still it would have effect.

laid down some support fire over a cache from a lb once with the SAW. Think it was on ramiel...pretty effective too, a few strafing runs and i killed about 8 guys basically eliminating the rooftop threat around the cache and allowing my squad to stroll in and destroy it easy

C4ing does work, you need the pilot to tell you when to drop the C4. (Remember back in 0.6, it worked like a charm) - Basically I had this pilot (Really good) in a transport chopper and he'd tell me when to drop C4, to basically kill firebases and APCs; worked like a charm and was as funny as hell. Haven't done it since, as the server banned this technique.

Oooh yea! I think it works as well. I just misinterpreted the pilot here. He was saying something like drop it so I clicked, than I heard in like 5, 4, 3, /facepalm.


We where doing Kashan 16 CnC so choppers where pretty much our only usefull weapon (in our eyes ) So we made patrols, '50's on hummers and bases, AA out the back for blackhawks! Was pretty awesome with use directing the pilot: little more, little more, great stop it! BAM! go go go!

I do understand why its banned on most servers tho! Dont think we have any rules on it thinking about it.

But TBH not so great insurgents. If those 8 guys had fired at you, you would at least have had to fall back, but most likely gone down.

If one look at the intro movie to vBF2 one can see a sniper shooting from a black hawk iirc.

Ashame it isn't for real though...nothing in that movie can or will happen for real in vBF2.
