Dumbarsery needs stiffer consequences

Post by TF6049 »

TKing, Force TKing, etc need stiffer consequences. Too many noobs out there get away with it, and an example of tough punishment needs to be made.

1st, kick
2nd, BAN from server
3rd, GLOBAL PR BAN

Thoughts?

Nooberyism is immeasurable and unquantifiable.

So what would you base a kick on? Is there vote? Who decides nooberyismness?

God?

PS: You are behaving like me now. Spending more time ranting in the forums than playing PR cuz of nooberyismness and Punkbuster!

The consequences are set by the admins of the servers, really most of the time nothing ever gets dealt with unless the admins care enough to stop playing the game and deal with it. I would be happy if they just kicked the noobs who are messing around from time to time. global bans would not work out well, there used to be a big thread were you could report people but it just got overflowed with bs posts and people trying to get other people kicked for nothing.

Yeap. Leave in in admins hands. Dont forget that teamkills might also happen because of dumb stuff on the teamkilled person. Like running in with a friendly nade, walking infront of a person who is firing that sort of stuff. It happens.

global PR ban isn't possible afaik (unless one would make a community wide smacktard hash list). global PB ban would be an option though ;)

Some people are just jerk and you want to tk them so badly for being such a jerk.

Like the medic walking over your body as you ask for a revive or the apc driving by as you request ammo or the Heli taking off alone as you need a pick up.

but then I remember it cost tickets to tk them and its not worth it.

Mass teamkilling should get a ban but I have been under orders from my SL to team kill a solider following us giving are squad Location away by shooting / sprinting the server rules say Follow the squad Leaders orders!

There are exceptions of course( see above ) but do not REVENGE teamkill.

If there is an individual who cannot conform to community standards as regards the lives of his compatriots and/or the use of expensive taxpayer equipment, then a screen shot and a PM to the server admin ( should be able to find most here PR Server Feedback - Project Reality Forums ), will alert the proper authorities that irregular actions have been noted.
If said server admin were to receive several PMs with screen shots of the same person team killing, it is quite possible that person will be banned.

But if you revenge TK and he TKs you ...ad infinitum, the admin who pulls the BR file will have a very tough time deciding who is at fault.

IMHO there are a large number of people who will engage in asshattery if given the chance but PR doesn't give them that chance and so we have nice, peaceful games of mutual destruction.
But there are those who we won't name that enjoy your anger and feed on it like a tick.

DO NOT GIVE THEM THE SATISFACTION.

It is only game but having said that, there have been some times I think I might be willing do physical harm to people if they were sitting next to me, yet another reason to avoid LAN parties.
Don't let them know you are effected, just blow it off and you eliminate their raison d'être

Well well well... if only someone would make that huh, hehe. As a matter of fact, it's already live and rockin', so get your server admins to join up ;) .

Depends on the situation. One Russian guy joined my squad a few days ago and apparently he got bored because we were waiting for extraction. So he aims at me and calls me mother***** and other stuff and kills me. He didnt realize that I was the server admin so he won a permanent ban instantly.

Some more "lighter" situations can be usually handled with warn or kick. Global shitlist would be pretty good to have so server administrators can prevent the un-wanted material easily from each others servers.

The Global Ban List is a voluntary thing. Server admins have to want to be a part of it and it does not stop the truly determined players. In any event, this is something that should be brought before server admins, not the PR Main Forums. The PR Devs make the game, but they do not and cannot police the servers for anything other than license violation... As far as I know...

What's the point? The grievers always cause more damage and punishment for the team they grief on than they receive.
Take for example a guy that comes into the game, gets the attack chopper and TKs the entire base with it, then disconnects and goes off to masturbate at his latest cyber achievement while there are 31 players online who are screwed for the round.

I am not interested in reciprocity with regard to the grievers, simply a lack of them.
I don't think short of tracking them down and paying a large group of 10 year olds to beat them bloody youcould ever repay them the aggro they cause, but you can make it very hard for them to operate.

I was playing Kashan yesterday, we were tanks, obviously, and this noob with a logistics truck rammed us head on and then didn't forgive the tank driver (I was gunner) for TK.

So are you saying my squadmate who was driving should be kicked because someone else is stupid enough to ram him with a supply truck and die?
Doesn't seem quite fair to me.

I am not saying that and I think some of the others are talking about situations where the supply truck driver kept crashing into you or in some other way created havoc for the team.
Accidents happen and I don't think a single TK should ever be enough for a kick, but multiple TKs should be punished and on many servers if everyone punishes, the offender will be kicked.

Well I just had an awesome experience on GiB ins server.

I managed to hunt down a sniper, after much effort and a death I kill him. I get his kit. I was intent on denying the enemy access to it. So I proceed to retreat. I killed him and got the kit on the roof of the mosque in Fal west. I managed to get all the way to a cache in A 2. Before I decided to go through an area of open ground I figured I'd ask the squad there if any enemy was around.

I ask, no response. The leader of S2 runs around the wall in front of me. He sees me, proceeds to walk up to me. I ask in team "is the area clear?" he prones a front in front of me and empties his PKM into me. Following this he leaves the server.

Naturally I'm a little livid..... Just a bit.........damnidiotbasterdtkingnoobprick....

In the last weeks i find myself tking people more and more.

Just one example:
A Clanmate , 2 guys and me form a Sniper SQ.
2 Sniper 2 Spotter... makes sence.

We spawn 2 of us walk to the crates to get the Kits..... All of these kits hav already been issued..... WTF

We look for the people who got the Kits. One is attached to a SQ and one is running around on his own. We move out to hunt them down the spotters kill em the snipers take the kits.
Its just our way to fight BF2 vanilla noobs.

I think, Tahantos, you are even worse than a vanilla n00b.
If you would have sone somthing like that on "my" server the whole squad would have got a ban from me.

On the most british servers is a rule that the asset belongs to the squad which has the name (means TANK-squad gets the Tank) I like to play like this. But whoever gets a kit before someone other gets it, well... hes lucky. Comes first gets first.

TKing is definitly not the right way cuz every real vanilla-n00b wil spawn and rape you both. Then he will pick the kit and he will die and YOU have to wait 10 minutes for it (maybe after you walked over half of the map).

If theres a rule that Sniper belongs to "Sniper"-Squad tell it to an admin who will kick them but NOT tking.

But you cant run crying to admin everytime something like that happens.
This was on the UK warfare server and non of us or the others got Kicked or banned.
Sometimes Tk is the only language they understand if you get replies like "Every Sq should have one Sniper" or "I took the Marksman for Sniping"
