In wars Artillery was a tool that helped, look at the first WW and how extensivley Howitzers and huge mortars were used, constantly day and night, Second WW in the pacific when the battles for the gilberts, marshall and the philippines, a whole month of Artillery and rockets from the smallest gun monitor all the way to a IOWA & New York class battleships, then Korea and Vietnam (Fire support bases), then the most recent in Afganistan a village was full of taliban so instead of risking the lives of the commando's then pounded the village into submission untill it was just rubble with 3 105mm's

So artillery has and will always be used to destroy anything in an AREA hence area attack(ofc) and that is its purpose so it wont be changed hopefully, when something is good in one persons eyes the other will think different XD

Hitman is right.

Its war Its hell Its Life.

Only way I would support this would be If.

Once the Arty strike hits all Caches with in the strike zone are no longer spawn on able.

Any hideout /or Locked doors with in the blast or with in 120m of the shock wave are Opened / disabled with in 360 of the target.

this would mean it would be clear of any INS and we would just walk in and blow them up kinda a waste of time but I'm trying to met you half way here.

Well, this IS Project Reality. So, realistically, arty hurts just about anything and everything. Making things invulnerable is just asking for it to be exploited.

IRL An artillery shell would blow off any cache. However, if it is possible, making it so that the cache is destroyed when the building is destroyed would be more realistic.

But just because a bit of shrapnel hit an ammo crate you can't be sure it is destroyed. Travis has a good idea, caches aren't spawnable will give the impression eveything is dead and the troops are clearing it out, it keeps caches safe from long range arty and gives insrugents time to counter but still makes it fair for coalition to move in and take caches out easily.
