Punkbuster?

Ok aside from the fact that getting this game to work was a complete nightmare in every sense of the word. (Both bf2 and PR), i finally get it to work at within minutes am booted, and a friend says i need some program called punkbuster.

SO i go to the punkbuster website, and lo and behold, there is NO option to download the program. Only manual small updates that dont work on their own.


Could this game be any more difficult?

Punkbuster is installed automatically when you install Battlefield 2.

Check you've installed BF2 properly (you should have a 'pb' folder in your BF2 folder), then download and run pbsetup to get your PB up to date.

http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe < that is great for making sure the two services are running properly too.
