Adding Location to Squad Chat

Post by Incognito84 »

Simple suggestion.

I was just wondering if it were possible to have a player's sector displayed next to their name when they type in squad (or team) chat or even when they use a mic.

For example,

[A4K3]Incognito84: guys, let's move to B3K6!
[B3K6]L337: I've been there since before you were born, tool.

I think it will help for organization while decreasing the amount of time we all spend looking at the map.

Just a simple idea!

Some hardcoded players still think the keypad order is that of the telephone. Go figure..

Usually that's not how keypad works, keypad is usaully for identifying targets, such as "I see a enemy cache in the field in d4keypad1" or "enemy firebase in a2k3", usaully for identifying your own location they can just click on your name in the squad menu and your dot will turn white.

But i guess it would be nice to streamline the game a lil more but not really a big issue. Good idea.

that would be better if the squad is spread out, or you are under engament and cannot report the enime locatoin right then, how many times have you sead north of my position... and ur sl gose to the wrong place.....

also, mabey the kp thing should be shown in the tips menu, something like, remember, whene reporting a location, kp1 is botte left, 3 is bottem right, 7 top loeft, 9 is top right

It would also good in this case: Say you've found a cache or something, you can report it, and you don't have to state your location.

I always just at the Num. Pad whenever somebody says that an enemy is in xxkpx (x's are variables)

Sounds good, hopefully it's do-able.

If you think about it, stuff that's always really sweet is hardcoded. It's probably just Dev's secret-language for hard to code ^_^

lol, watch there be some other mod for bf2, some really small one, and it has fastropes=P

lol, but still, come to think of it, it at first thought is hard coded, but then agian, if you think about it, its just coding is that whene u press b your name apperars on the screen. mabey they can add a line that gives infromation about the area, like
#playername# #playerlocation=h+w=xxkpxx
i was the word playername withthe numbers in a file somewhere, so if you could edit it so that it would display a player location depending on the highth and width of your location whitch corisponds to a location on the map.

but then agian thinking of it they say all voip is hardcoded, so owuld that mean they cannot access the voip file therefor allowing them not to do this... then agian you can make it so it adds to the name a location by having that attached the name itself instead of voip...
