Just letting you guys know, the Little bird in real life does NOT have a HUD.

It also doesn't fly 600+ kph. there are plenty things wrong with all of the helis in game. Not sure if it is a engine limitation to affect only speed and not lift with torque. I was going to make a suggestion myself about this.

There being a HUD isn't really an issue. It's used to represent the various gauges in the chopper you can't see ingame such as speed, heading, throttle, altitude, and the horizon indicator.

Yeah, it does. In-game speed does not match real-life speed. 600+ kph in-game is the correct speed relative to how large things are in-game, how fast other vehicles move, etc.

That's also what I was thinking. Is there a way then to adjust the numbers shown on the HUD of vehicles that show speed? The little bird on a level flight should not really exceed 250-300kph.

They know that transport choppers do not have huds irl but there is no other way to see your speed or altitude because the dials and what not do not work.

@samspon71

It is hardcoded.

im also pretty sure the marines dont use lilbirds, and i think only 1 unit in the army uses them {the SOAR right?} which is why it never sat right with me that there are lilbirds in a game that is based on reality.

"During the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and during the stabilization efforts that carry on to this day, Little Bird pilots took in numerous missions. Two AH-6 and two MH-6 helicopters were part of a special operations raid at Al Qadisiyah in western Iraq.

AH-6 helicopters were also tasked with supporting the rescue mission of Private First Class Jessica Lynch in April, 2003.

MH-6 helicopters were part of TF-145, as well as the rescue of three Italian contractors and Polish businessman taken hostage by Iraqi insurgents in 2004." -Wikipedia on MH-6 lilbirds.

If only that were for BF2, and not BF2142.

I'm confused, don't the pilots see stuff on their visors? (like IR strobes etc?)

I happen to be in an exceptionally good mood so you get the personalized response. This is actually a resuggestion, the original topic dealt with all transport choppers and was 5 pages down the list after searching under "HUD". The problem with removing the HUD is that right now the BF2 engine cannot support working dials on the dashboard in front of you. Because of that, for the sake of giving pilots some information, the HUD has remained in game. For the original topic, please go here.
