We are talking about civilists that mix up with the enemy, they would get blown apart irl too. It aint like they are trying to get away from the fighting.
IRL they would be considered legitimate targets.

I've seen/heard-of lots of civies killed by snipers. And I've experienced that too as a civilian. In fact, I think civies are killed mostly by limited kits and from distance (partially due to the draw distance problem explained above).
sentinel wrote:The only way to go is: Loss of tickets and a report to all that someone has shot a civi... Why? Because when shooting civies will eventually cost their teammates the game there will be people calling the shooters noobs and noboby likes that.
This actually a quite good idea. Maybe a team wide message like in TKs but where victim's name is not shown, only his civilian status.

But I don't think this would effect a player with an attitude problem...

IRL they are legitimate targets ONLY when they act as live meat shield for insurgents who are firing at coalition forces, but not when they are on their own without armed company or there is no firefight going on.

@clueless_noob

One huge problem 90% of the player base already know how to always spawn as a officer even if your not in a squad..... people would just exploit this bug to get a better kit.
Twisted Helix: Yep you were the one tester that was of ultimate value.

Have you PM'd the [DEV]'s about this bug and how it can be exploited?

Unless it's somehow hardcoded problem I don't see any reasons why they wouldn't fix this loophole just like they've fixed other previously well-known bugs (spawn timer bypass, anyone?)

A nice solution would be you are able to kill civilians only if there is a enemy combatant within 5-10 meters of the civi. If you kill a civi 5-10 meters away from any enemy combatants you get double the current punishments.

Probably isn't possible with the engine but would be nice.

Here is my 2 cents. Firstly, a collaborator (which in an "unarmed combatant, and not able to be engaged under Hague convention I believe). Should NOT count as a kill. I am sick of seeing people with negative 500 team scores still in the top three.
They should then be forbidden to pick up any NATO kit for 10 minutes. This will prevent someone from requesting a kit for you.
Intel loss and a report aht X has shot a civilian/unarmed combatant.
I remember once, some guy was camping the mosque. So I ran out as a civie, He say that I was a civie, and gunned me down. DId he care? HECK NO!
I understand we have to stop people from jumping into gun fire (but these are insurgents, they use human shields...its what they do)

There are times when you CAN shoot a civie though, right? When he is in a car, or on a ladder right? Well, maybe we should add to that WHILE they are healing someone? Pretty unrealistic though, as i think that would also be against NATO rules.
