Artillery by grenade launcher/ mobile artillery

It be cool if the grenade launcher could have unlimited # per squad so that there could be squads of grenadiers to work as artillery, because there is no mobile support of that sort? Or maybe tanks, with artillery on em? Like bf1942?

That's the exact reason they want it limited per squad, though it's really the fact that they are PR's best form of support that they still get used as such, in groups as mini-mortars.

Grenade Launcher's are only accurate up to 300m. After that, your just guessing.

Grenade Launcher's are only the most effective if your attacking a building. Other then that.. bullets are the best to use.


Plus, if you gave them unlimited... that'd be pretty overkill. You already get 7 (I think) and 3 smoke. Imagine the firepower.

Pretty sure 80mm mortars are already in development unless they scrapped it, and you can already call in artillery/mortars.

Also tanks with artillery on them, or self propelled artillery, would really make games end quickly with constant artillery fire from anywhere on the map considering the effective range on them are like 18,000m to 30,000m(with rocket assist) so they might as well just put stationary artillery since they would just sit in main by the ammo and spam it anyways.

how would you plan to actually hit anything if you were using grenade launchers as mortars?

indirect fire is very effective when defending

totally agree, but still getting the message back to the artillery to tell em how close they where to the target, would still be very difficult, also if the splash damage is small it wouldn't be too deadly... have you guys seen what they did with art in Forgotten hope 2?

Sometimes grenade launchers are already used as very accurate mortars. Spotter tells the grenadier where his shot landed and out goes another.

Was a thread about this earlier as well and I will say my oppinion again: If thats how they are used in real-life than im fine. But I dont think so. Like DEV said: In real life I reckon they are only used for medium to close engagements. And than especially for clearing out a window or something. Not as a personal arti position for ranges up to 700-1000 meters.

Played on.. I think it was baracuda.. with USMC vs Chinese forces.. and some dirty yankies landed on the beach and i pounded them with the GL.. they couldnt advance.. then our flanking MG got them..

1 grenade launcher dude is enough imho ..
