Is weapon deviation "realistic"?

Post by NoxNoctum »

I'm just wondering. I've never shot a rifle in combat conditions, so I guess I wouldn't really know. I know there's vets on here though.

In many ways I LOVE the weapon deviation because it prolongs firefights. That combined with suppression effects = firefights lasting several minutes instead of seconds. But on the other hand, when I've got a tango 50 feet away, I drop prone, wait 1 second and shoot and miss by 2 feet I'm kinda thinking.... I could have pulled that off in real life.

I mean, it's not like AKs, M16s are huge bulky bolt action rifles. They're pretty small.

Granted, again I haven't ever shot one in a battle.

Any input on this from vets?

Deviation is meant to replace a number of things that are not possible in the BF2 engine, such as weapon sway, stress, confusion, etc.
