Hmm, i code PHP for a dayjob and would be nice to check how PR is running things, any bf2 python tutorials available? ^^

I've tried learning C++ and some C#. And, trust me, you don't learn that over a night. You problary need years of experience of coding in order to be a good coder for a game/mod.

Python is still a scripting language thus it's "not that" complicated if you have previous experience with any kind of language.

I know norwegian Swedish and English, abit of German, Russian, Spanish and french.... I think i can handle Coded language :P hehe

So the PR devs need coders.. Right? So, we should educate some of our fellow brethren? To accomadate the need?

Sorry for double post gentlemen. But i was wondering, cause in another thread, i was talking about using hand signals, to avoid the enemy hearing us coming onto them, when on Mumble that is.

Like, you animate the GOGO thingy, then link it with python to the Squad commoRose, and remove the "sound of someone shouting".

Then when you press q, and then GOGO on the Commo rose, you charachter performs the GOGO Animation.

Is that possible? cause if it is, im going to learn Python... and force someone to animate the gogo thingy...

I don't think the commo rose can trigger animations, Wicca.

Python is serverside, not clientside. So triggering something like an animation can't be done like that ;) .
And, animations you would like to see need to be part of a weapon.

Yes, that's possible. I'm sure an animator can answer this better, but as far as I know, you *could* make animations for the following things:

- "Fire from hip" (lmb)
- "Zoom" (rmb, click again to "deactivate", "unzoom")
- "Reload"

This "weapon" should have unlimited magazines (or 999 for example) and unlimited ammo (or 999 for example). When fired, it fires an invisible projectile that does nothing, you only see an animation. The amount of projectiles and magazines should be unlimited (or at least a looooot), otherwise you have to "reload" in order to "fire" again :D .

Well, just speculating, but I don't think you can do much more with this ;) . Well, there could be a "fire when zoomed" animation (maybe, not sure..), but that'll only look awkward and will be useless, because it -requires- the "zoom" animation first.

Ah man! If we could Code C++ Would we be able to link it to the Commo rose then?

Im really getting buggerd about this....

In my ears linking animations to the commorose shouldnt be so hard, its like, when you use your commorose, the guy shouts, and a text appears in the screen for the team if you are squadleader. Why is that client and not Server side? What about the healing animation? Or the shoveling animation?

No. You can't use C++, only Python if you want to code things.

You can connect a sound to the commo rose, but that's it as far as I know. After that, it triggers a serverside things, like placing a rally point, build an asset, etc.

What do you mean, the healing animation? That's just an "fire" animation :) .
