I disagree!
I love squadleading for infantry grunts, and I love competing for top squad, and being the best squad out of all, it makes members want to join me each game and I look foward to having them again.
It also helps the community, my problem is with the new Free Candy Van server, where the new admin team .. really ruins the game.

The new server is honestly.. shit. I just can't believe how bad the staff treat players now, PR will surely collapse with this type of stuff coming from the server.

That said, squad leading is fun, and I enjoy it. A recent example, coming from FrostyTheLion:
"yeah I squad with [PRTF] QuickLoad mainly because last time we got top squad like 9 rounds in a row until he had to go."
which.. sums things up.
and incase anyone is curious, no I don't build superfobs and 'farm points' as people put it.

that's not even how you get top squad.

I didn't read through all five pages but as one of the noobs to the game in general, I participate as actively in squads as possible and have wanted to take up squad leading seriously. However I found it intimidating trying to be squad lead when you don't know what you're doing. It effects the team. There should be some kind of squad leading training/tutorial!

I disagree,
as a infantry grunt in PR, you should just play the roles that your squadleader tells you to, and learn from him, along with those around you.

After a certain amount of time, you will understand how to squadlead.
Also, remember, your squadleader is usually there to help you, so asking him questions isn't a bad thing.

I always kept playing as a lowly grunt, until I got forced into a SL position. I though 'well this squad is screwed', but the best part was that by watching good SLs lead, you can earn a lot of experience.

At the least my squad didn't do half as bad, killed somethings, captured points, all that good stuff. After that, I was mentally exhausted. Didn't play for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow, I didn't find a good Infantry Squad so I said 'screw it' and made my own. It was the top squad in the game. After that I was completely comfortable with being SL. Hell a few days ago I basically cordinated our whopping 14 man team by myself while being SL.

Squad leading is a difficult task, but it's rewarding. Only a few things top winning the game with 5 newbies and congratulating them on a job well done. Chance picked for me and I became a proud (Not necessarily good) SL. And I didn't even play the game for long, I played for like a week.

Anyone can become a SL with a bit of effort. I just hope other people will only try.
