Ummmm.... yeah. Israel isn't red..... I don't know what you are calling Israel.robbo wrote:Notice how most of those countrys are poor or 3rd world countrys except south africa.
And why is Israel Red they dont use hinds.
(and about Germany, they have some old HINDs from when it was Eastern Germany that they keep. They don't actually use them now.)

as far as i know the hinds of the former ddr are now in museums, at least not in operational state.
but of course thing is so widespread, russia sold it to everyone in the cold war that was even slightly anit-american

i dont think the MEC should be to Air operated maybe the introduction of a chopper would satisfy some people, but MEC should be more down to ground operated vehicles, they should have more tanks and larger troop carriers such as lorries, if this is about reality then how many HINDs do you see flying around that can take a few rounds of MG fire and operate under bad conditions.punctuated just for griffin.

Please punctuate, I can't understand a thing you're saying. And what's wrong with giving other factions air power?

the MEC are used to desserts which are windy and sandy and not good for choppers, also it is cheaper to go buy ground vehicle because the petrol over there is about 10 pence a litre or twenty cent a litre so in reality its easier to go by land based vehicle, and thats what this project is about. punctuated.Griffon2-6 wrote:Please punctuate, I can't understand a thing you're saying. The fact that robbo wants the mod horribly imbalanced infavor of the US/UK?Griffon2-6 wrote: what's wrong with giving other factions air power?
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

This would seem to ignore the fact that it is suppoed to be a hypothetical war, featureing at least one made up faction and we are not here to make the political situation any more realistic, just the feeling of the combat.robbo wrote:As it would be in real life this is a REALITY mod...

That's a good question. I would say it was probably due to the Sino-Soviet rift in the mid to late 60s, when the Hind was first developed, which escalated into border skirmishes. True, they could have purchased some under the table from Vietnam during the late 1970s/1980s, but maybe they just didn't like what they saw in it.Griffon2-6 wrote:I don't know why China doesn't use the Hind...

yeah uh...this has already been said a few times, but any hind can take more of a beating than uh..for example an apache - DAMMIT THIS THING WAS NOT CALLED FOR NO REASON A FLYING TANK (bottom line: one of the heaviest armored chopper around)
well, at the time the hind was invented and put into service, the relationship between china and the ussr was - lets say - tense.I don't know why China doesn't use the Hind...
after stalin, chruschtschow took a different stance concering china than he predeccesor - he more or less despised the cult mao build around him and mao of course, wasn´t a big fan of nikita instead. this peaked basically in the ussr and china being more enemys than allies and especially things like nixxon visiting china were much to the dislike of the russians.
to make things short: there was beef between russia and china and that´s why russia didnt sell china any hinds
that is at least my theory
