Been suggested before quite a few times. I'd like to see it instead of the prototype-only Havocs in the game, now. :)

It sure is a mean looking machine.
But wouldn't it outgun anything the US/UK forces could put up against it ?
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Yeah, it would, but it's slow too.

In some ways, yes, in others, no. If outfitted like the Hind-D (most common variant) model in the SF expansion pack, the Apache and Cobra would have the advantage in more powerful chin-turret guns (Apache: 30mm cannon; Cobra: 20mm cannon; Hind-D: 12.7mm minigun) and twice the number of ATGMs. The Hind-D carries a sh*tload of unguided rockets, though; spam city. And it has the potential to carry an infantry squad with it. However, it is a big target that while fast in the straight-line, cannot turn very well.

if it is added in then i think it should replace the MEC transport and give the blackhawk some rockets.

well given the map size, agility is very important.
But the troop carrying capacity would make very useful for hot insertions given a skilled pilot.

Not going to happen. The Blackhawk DAP is not outfitted both as a gunship and an assault-transport at the same time.

Saw a Czech one at the Leuchars Air Show, played the Terminator 2 music while it was doing its display

i suggested this before, and yes, the hind would be a perfect choice for the mec.
it would "terminate" the weakness they´ve currently got compared with the usmc (mec chopper sucks in comparison with the blackhawk), while giving the mec they´re on "profile", some kind of unique vehicle

but if you´re gonna replace it, i´ll just go ahead and provide you with some really kick-*** picks of a up-to-date hind version (if´s upgraded by a second - i think ukraine- company)

kickass go:

Hinds FTW. When we get a fully armed one with troop carrying capacity, I'll be happy. The MEC have been waiting long enough to get thier hands on decent equipment, and I'm fed up of imba British and Americans.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

If implemented it would not replace the Mi-17 transport helicopter.

Good, I love the flying cow.

Anyways, I've seen these in real life at the Bulgarian War Museum - http://realitymod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12680

They are really cool

Oh come on, it should replace the cow on some maps!

Oh yeah, and the upgraded Hinds look like giant insects.

I always thought there was an insectoid resemblance anyway, with the tandem bubble canopies.

You don't know this heli? It's one of the most, if not the most famous Soviet heli ever!

I only saw the insectoid resemblance after it had been painted black.
