I always run my squad with discipline. I have an easier time convincing random blueberries that join my squad to follow orders, as opposed to seasoned veterans. So I prefer randoms.

I think Sirfstar already told it. Things havent changed that much, its a Bit faster than back in the days. Besides That, its like almost the Same, sometimes more fun, sometimes less.

I dont know, as long as you join a serious Named squad you will have a nice battle 8/10 times. In my opinion New Players in pr are really handsome They are asking for help getting into pr almost everytime. I'd like pr to be on steam so we get more peepz, god, it was just awesome when the standalone was Released, like 15 Servers packed with Players, never saw that before.

Because of this thread I don't think I'm gonna be able to shake the thought that I'm playing an 'inferior' version of the game and that I missed out on the full extent of what it had to offer a long time ago, at least according to the vets. Perhaps I'm worrying too much. It's pretty annoying to be drawn in by the prospect of PR being 24/7 alpha whisky bravo tango down roger copy over and out, and joining a game to be greeted by three one-man squads doing absolutely nothing, whilst the squads that you can only assume to have competent players in them are either full, locked, or are carrying out roles you're not comfortable with yet. The games that have gone smoothly communication-wise have always been a blast when my Australian internet connection doesn't decide to ruin it. Gonna keep coming back regardless, though.

EDIT: Also my join date isn't indicative of how much I've been playing, which I haven't been until very recently.

I think the checkers versus chess analogy is accurate. Though I haven't played in a while so maybe it's changed again but I feel the gameplay speed/depth has changed both in gameplay mechanics and player base mentality over time.
Different versions made it a slower / faster gameplay style. I preferred the slower style myself, with lulls in the battle and time to make a plan of action and down time from the fighting. Though that was back when I had alot of time to play video games :)

The great thing is this is a community based game and if enough of the player base wants a change, it can happen,it just takes some leadership and desire to make a difference!!!

Fuzzy,

We still have our planing sessions and battle down time.

Me and the guys play for zero death rounds now. Lots of M-Inf as well. Come back and join us some time.

Watching old videos, everything that came before Mumble was just so awkward and cringey. There is no way public play back then could have provide the same depth and quality of communication we have in current PR.

The old players probably got jobs, education and even better things to do. So the only thing the rest of us is left to do is to train up the new people! YOU ALL NEED TO STEP UP!
