This. Also, the server admins clearly prefer the methods they have in place, otherwise, they'd have another method in place. For some servers, this means your way. In others, it means another way.

Perhaps for PR 2, there could be a suggestion(as part of the gameplay) to have a BOOT CAMP scenario, much like AA2 and AA 3, which will qualify the player, teaching them the mechanics the game and effective squad tactics? Perhaps an effective ranking system which limits the kit a player can have? Extra points for snipers that give appropriate intel and who DON'T shoot? Squad leaders must kick more often otherwise. A kid join a squad of mine once(he or SHE sounded 9, lol) and immediately asked for the sniper rifle. I told them no. Firmly. This game ideally is one of teamwork, otherwise, why buy a headset? If you don't read the manual, you run the risk of sh*%%*ng all over the game and the other players. Take your Ritalin, and play Halo on your dad's TV.

as you noticed (I hope so), since the patch came out there are a lot of new players in PR (calling them 'noobs' inthe following). I find this great since it greatly improves gameplay imo, cause the new players bring new ideas/tactics onto the field.
BUT
again theres the problem that only a few new players begin playing in coop mode or even read the manual. Over the past weekend I heard so many people saying "I did this in Vanilla but i dont know how it is here" ... I didnt want to explain that PR is a completely different thing, so i just explained how the certain things work. So this is
My first point of this thread:
Start a "advertising campaign" about reading the manual and training on coop before you firstly connect on a real server.
My second point is another problem which has greatly increased since the patch.
Ive seen much more servers with "first come first serve" rule than any other asset/squadasset rule. In this case admins are not doing their job right (imo). They jsut keep administrating their server like in vanilla, if someone pisses them off, they kick them.
so ->
Start another campaign about STRICT GENERAL PR RULES which have to be on every PR server, p.e. when you get a PR server licence you have to apply that you MSUT use squad asset/squad name rules etc. That would greatly improve gameplay, for sure!
Dont let PR die.
so what are your thoughts?
I swear someone starts this exact same thread every time a new patch is released.
As far as naming sqds after assets, it's entirely up the server admins and the affiliated players.

okay, sorry i was in hurry, of course i meant the devs!
its clear that the admins recommend that method they like most... but i think the dev team has the best condition to recommend a method.
today I noticed that you wouldnt need any kind of asset rule if:
-every player on the server uses PR mumble
-sqls use sql radio net on mumble
-squads would be predefined at the begining of the round (lke in BC2, alpha, bravo squads etc.)
and again i noticed that a server without an asset rule is total bullshit.

I thought you said TG's lack of an asset rule was fine there?
I get the distinct impression that you don't like it when you make a squad for an asset and someone else uses those assets as well. Maybe you should play on one of the servers that has the rule, since I can think of three off the top of my head that are normally populated and have that rule.

well i said that i never played on TG but i like the idea with the commander.
and those servers you mention are usually full, coffeeshop, ukwf and prta.
but again, if everyone would use mumble you wouldnt need neither a commander nor a squad asset rule
