Realistically I find that the deviation for assault rifles, dms, and snipers need to be touched up a bit. They don't accurately portray rifles being fired in a combat situation with center of mass being the primary target and being made by the lowest bidder. I'm not saying they should break, malfunction, or jam but I find it hard to believe that I would be able to put a round through someones eye after running, turning 180, and firing at a target 100 meters out which right now is fairly easy to do.
Gameplay-wise the deviation model encourages twitch/headshot reflexes with most firefights ending within 3-4 rounds after they began unlike 0.6 which literally took 1-2. More than 2/3 of my deaths are headshots and I find it pretty darn easy to headshot my opponents at ranges over 250 meters with an assault rifle even if they have a sniper rifle. Granted a player should be able to hit a target at those ranges if they are patient and throw as many rounds down range as they can accurately but they shouldn't be headshots 9 out 10 times with only 3 rounds expended. The deviation is not as accurate as it was in 0.6 but they are a lot more accurate than in 0.7. With every rifle except the g3 it was fairly easy to take down anything with patience and understanding of letting your rifle settle.
It doesn't make much sense to me realistically or gameplay-wise as it shouldn't come down to solely who has the better reflexes..

I wish that I didn't have to sleuth through some of this e-penis stuff just to read this discussion and get some gameplay/real-life feedback.

Well said.
Now I aint dissing your clan here in any way, but did all you TF21 crew have a meeting about this and all come on here with the same agenda as to berate the current deviation issue? 5 of you guys (Halycon, Vipersghost, Wolfe, Reapermac and Rico11b) have come on here and spoken, pretty strongly - and in some cases - harshly, about the current deviation setup.
To answer your question, yes we did talk about on TS, along with other DEV members, and they agree. (Check above

Ill probably come off sounding like some PR fan boy here - but I couldnt give a f**k. I think the Dev's are doing a great job and the deviation issue has been addressed....for the better.
Uh... no.

This whole argument comes down to that word. Not realism, not gameplay... Patience. Few people have it.

if wed have a more random, realistic deviation paired with the unlimited spawnsystem right now.. youd simply be better just knifecharging. so I guess its a good balance as it is.

I don't what you guys do, or how you get running headshots at 250m, but I can't hit shit most of the time, nor can most people I play with.
I had an engagement at 30m where both me and the other person run out of ammo, and then we just sat there looking at each other, reloading, then start shooting again. Or, I've turned to just taking out my knife and rushing people because I know that they won't be able to hit shit.
Do you guys ever stop to consider that you guys (TF21) are getting a skewed perception of the deviation just because you are really good and can pwn everybody? While most people struggle?

This is how i see deviation needs to go
Assualt rifles - back to .7
-Marksmen - Same
-Snipers - should be able to track targets
-HAT- PERFECT!
Reason for assault rifles, is because in the case of Insurgents or militia, it's just ridiculous of how much *** beating they can inflict...take fools road for example: Wide open spaces = heaven for scopes.

Let this thread die, rot n' burn already... unless there are some numbers of significant value, video, pictures or other form of backing up what we are saying this discussion won't go anywhere and will just be a mad ramble trying to remember/make-up stories to support our views.

Agreed, final word is as follows.....
Changes will be made to the deviation system in the future in our pursuit to achieve the most realistic depiction of RL accuracy possible with the refractor 2 engine. Even those changes themselves are liable to be overhauled if the community members striving for proper ballistic trajectories complete their work.
