Nice work there. still not quite happy with the lightning ( too bleach and bright imo) but its improving definitely.

Still... more terrain variation please ! its far too flat and perfect. im not saying that you should creat huge hills whatsoever but just spice up the terrain with some ditches here and there and some more "naturality"

on thsi screen for example you can see that your terrain is far too flat

fields are quite flat normally of course but theyre not run over by a plain roller to be 100 % flat. use the random tool in combination with the smoothing tool in order to make it more realistic and maybe add some smooth , low hills.

I think the term your looking for is fields are not really flat, they have many changes in heights in them but what they are is very "smooth", the height changes are very gradual and although you might get some quite big steep areas here and there, they are not sudden changes and as such you have a nice smooth contrast between any height change, with a few minor exceptions.

So as such, make lots of height changes then just make sure they are all smoothed out ;)

may i direct your eyes to the accompanying visual device, as you can observe the area in question is on the whole rather devoid of topographical events. please be assured this in neither a rare or unique event and can be observed in varying examples across the land mass of Australia.

this does not imply that you are in any way wrong or mislead in your opinion, but rather points out the artists impression is neither wrong or misleading.

thankyou.

ye but even a tiny tiny bit of terrain height variation is all we are talking about which you can even see in that pic if you look hard enough :)

A little critic on the irrigation ditches, might I suggest you either go one of two ways. Make it wide and shallow like you see here or go for the deeper and less wide cut ditches like this. The second variety are a little more expensive especially considering they are often concrete lined or has high density polyethylene liner but they are more effective and lose less water to the sun. I think and by no means am I expert on the subject but for wheat fields your more likely to see the second more so than the first. Also if you feel like using the deeper ditch drains it wouldn't hurt to throw a couple of water gates these are used to cut the water flow to area's that it isn't needed.

Another point I would like to raise is when you decide on which way you want to go don't be afraid to spend a little time on the detail. Especially when it comes to weeds and grasses growing next to the irrigation ditches and dams. Also even during server times of drought you will always find a little greenery on the side of the road especially around signs and fences where people are to lazy to mow.

Other than that looks good mate and unlike the rest of these nay sayers I dig the light box / sky it looks fair dikum and even the view distance is reasonable given how Australia is often effect by dust storms. In fact there is another idea you could if possible discolour your fog so it looks a little like the wind is picking up loose local soil.

I know your a fellow Aussie and allot of this isn't new to you but I thought it never hurts to bring it up and hopefully you will be a little inspired. ;)

yeah urrm australia is a very flat country unless your on the great dividing range. but even so... love the skiy and lighting looking better, irragation channels maybe make them less deep???

Thanks for the Irrigation tips visone, I'm a country boy but I didn't grow up on a farm lol so cheers for the heads up.

About the field terain height, it's perfectly flat atm because I just leveled it for the field statics. It's not final so I'll add some slight variation to it ;)

Thanks for the crits though guys, it's all been constructive and I do appreciate it
