Its arcadey and unrealistic. It is contradictory to the plight of Project Reality.

Lol what, are yall seriously implying that we should: Stop and get out the vehicle, grab our gun and wait for the deviation and animation to finish, and than shoot? Or simply drive away, wait 5 minutes waiting for those to never come? Ill always drive enemy over, its the main goal of every game with shooter elements: make your enemies game as horrible as you can. Ill just drive m over, ill chase m untill my own live is in danger, than ill fall back.

Personally, I'm advocating that bullets be able to do damage in situations where they realistically would. Standard auto glass (and most automobile components other than the engine and drivetrain) will do very little to stop a rifle round from killing the individuals inside the vehicle.
Even "bulletproof" glass will fail under enough repeated hits, and every round that it takes will reduce the ability of the occupants to see through their windows or windshield.
In short, I would like to see some of the realistic downsides that come with trying to run down an armed man using a vehicle, because there's a reason this isn't a top choice among armed men trained to kill their enemies.

Not to mention the damage and reduction in speed that would be caused to the vehicle itself by hitting a soldier with a combined weight of over 100kg.
There's also the fact that many cases like medium speed collisions or slight clipping of the body result in you being killed on the spot. As opposed to real life, where the chances of you being relatively unharmed are quite high. In BF2, if a medium/large object hits you with anything that could be considered "speed", at any angle, on any part of the body, you're dead. Which is ridiculous.
Let's also not forget that you can't perform any sort of fast, short movement in-game to avoid an oncoming vehicle like diving perpendicular to the direction it's coming from.

I think RKing one guy who is in front of you is OK, when people circle back, reverse it's bad and silly.
If you know when to stop shooting and move perpendicular to the vehicles travel it's fairly easy to avoid, but alot of guys get tunnel vision and keep shooting at the driver hoping for a kill.

If you could use your gun inside the car you would do so in real life, but with the PR engine you can't so that's why you do whatever is possible to kill him.
I must confess that I am a Road-Killer, but I find this to be a okay feature in PR, if you know how to shoot and where to run you won't die, for example if a truck comes straight at you, press Z and it will drive right over you. of course if you aren't prepared you will get splattered.
But the only way to fix this would be making it possible for soldiers to injure vehicles on impact, this way small cars wouldn't be able to crash into 5 people without anything happening to the people inside. But what definitely shouldn't be done is removing the feature completely. Keep it as it is or make it as close to reality as possible for both the driver and victim.

I was in a Bradley in Kashan, my driver went up to the FOB we thought we had cleared but there was one guy left, the gun was too high for me to hit him, he ran and took cover between two supply crates, my driver just pushed the crates together and he got crushed between them lol.

the "bullet proof" glass on armoured vehicles such as humvees should allow for minor damage to the occupant directly in the line of fire. A full load of ammunition into the same area on the glass would surely compromise it enough to horrible wound, or obstruct the driver's view.
INS vehicles are fine as they are at the moment. i posted with a buddy on a roof top one time and i heard big red or gary coming by, so i turned around and saw it swing around the corner about a block away and put 3 rounds into the windshield and he died.

Is it possible to avoid a road-kill by going prone in front of the vehicle? Or is it hard-coded in the engine?

I think by Road killing people are talking about drivers who get into a car for the purpose to roadkill. If I am driving along and see an enemy I would swerve into him too, however thats different from driving around with the sole purpose to roadkill.

Best not to go there, probably.
My 2 cents is that the problem lies more with damage to the vehicle than with the roadkills per se; yes, it is ridiculously easy to be killed by a RK, but I think at least 80% of roadkills wouldn't happen if, as has been said, the damage to the offending vehicle was modeled realistically. A lot of it could very well be engine code considerations - but hardcoding aside, if a squad puts down a couple seconds of FPF on a pickup, it should be swiss cheese, not driving around running me over. I feel like in most situations that end in a RK, the vehicle is spotted in enough time that a realistic Toyota (or at least a realistic driver) would have been shredded.
Don't really know if this could be done, but maybe something like engine block damage might help.

It depends on the situation. I agree with those that have stated that if there's infantry running across the road and you're hauling some serious ***, too bad for them. But I don't agree with an APC running over infantry. That I believe is unacceptable. There's coaxial MGs on them for a reason. So what if the driver goes the entire match and doesn't get a single kill. I was on Operation Barracuda and on the USMC and we kept getting shot down and run over by APCs. There really is no reason that they should be running over infantry, especially on a map that's hard to manuever vehicles on in the first place.

This.
It's fine if they're in the way, in a desperate situation, etc. But using the vehicle solely for ramming purposes (IE a common tactic I see on Muttrah is rushing the unarmed BRDM and ramming helis and infantry with it at docks) is completely ridiculous. Since you cannot properly "evade" in PR, it is unrealistic to allow for such easy kills.

On the subject of APC's, I've been on at least one IDF/Hamas map where an m113 drove over to hamas' last spawnpoint and just did doughnuts for several minutes, trying to get roadkills. I think perhaps if the light vehicles were easier to destroy, and the APCs were harder to steer precisely, it might solve a lot of the problem... I can see being run down by an APC on a narrow road, but it seems like maybe it shouldn't be quite so easy to drive in tight circles running guys down in an armored vehicle.

After being chased around in a circle on Ramiel for about ten minutes by a one man APC with no AT to hand, I'm firmly of the opinion that one man APC roadkill heroes should be lined up and shot with the turret of their own damn vehicle.

The only time I've been really pissed off with roadkilling is on a specific server which is owned by a clan that is known for raging when they lose. Even though its against the rules to roadkill they still do it when they get raped by the opposing team. When its done its not just 1 player doing it but more like 3-4 at the same time.
I guess roadkilling is part of the game but I think its lame when people really try to roadkill more then it just being an opportunity. There isnt much you can do about it, except kick/ban the players that do it.
