Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Finally getting off my backside and learning to texture. (Not my model btw, the one supplied with tut)

Following the glock texture tutorial, will hopefully get the hang of unwrapping soon so can do it all myself, then it's just learning how to make all the different materials look real, get the hang of all the different maps and possibly fork out for a Graphics Tablet. Oh well, tally ho!

I know the shadows don't look the best, new to renders.

It is because you are using "Shadow map" for your shadows. If you want better shadows chose "ray traced shadows", but be warned that it will take significantly longer.

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
So i decided i would try my hand at modeling, proberly trying to model a tank was not the best way to learn.
Started like that which as you can see it pretty lol

About 5k poly for RTS game, picked it up quick.

Began working on a train for a competition between mates aswell

Also tried my hand at a Low poly weapon 339 pollys

My next project will probably be a weapon or another tank, with a bit more polys to play with

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
I dont think i have that many wip shot left, as i cleaned them all up after finishing, but i do have loads of max files where i saved to try new stuff then saved after so il load some of them. Here are the ones i can find not many but the only ones that were on my Photobucket still, cleaned the rest out

The way i work creates alot of save files, so if i make a massive mistake that cant be fixed i only need to get back 1 or 2

Looking good, a few strange edges round the bottom of the cockpit. Nice to see people actually welding in the engines for once

Added a rivet texture around the canopy and guns etc. There's a lot of stretching which I need to solve, and the textures pretty bad too. Next step is getting everything onto the texture sheet

Experimenting with some vegetation, sucks, but at least it was nice to learn something new.
