Or is someone DDoSing again? Tried to play four rounds tonight on different servers and couldn't finish one of them without the servers crashing..

No ddos. The crashes are PR-related, either python or server .exe issues. Our tests this morning were to eliminate a potential cause of the issue. We're just as frustrated as everyone else is, and at this point I would give about anything to see a round finish to completion without crashing.

Well, I'm just baffled. I can't figure out why the server seemed to be doing just fine, but in the past couple of days, I have yet to finish a complete round.

It's not just our server. It's PR as a whole.

I realize. Right now as far as U.S. servers go, whichever server stays stable during the peak times is the one that fills. I just wish it was TG.

Testing some server-side python changes. Help us see if we can crash the server today.

if you manage to solve some server crashes you could share the changes in server admin section of this forum?

The mentioned python changes are done by the DEV Team and we are testing it with a few selected servers.
If the test run is positive, it will be included in the next official server file update.

I should have clarified that K4on. Mea Culpa.

TG will be reverting back to the BF2 server exe after the next crash (eagerly anticipated Friday night US time). We will be running with a 64 player cap during this test. This means we will actually only have 62 free slots available.

We will let everyone know when the test is over.

Interesting. It seemed more stable during Friday nights gaming. I'll continue to help seed when I can.

Edit: I take that back. Server just crashed (0550 EST) during Saaremaa on the Large layer with about 90 players. There were about 280 tickets left for the USMC. It was reported it crashed immediately after someone was one manning the Hummer AAV and exited from the gunner seat. Probably not related to the server crash but who knows...

All

For the remainder of the weekend we will be running the PR server on the old BF2 server executable and *not* the PR server executable. This means we will have a reduced capacity on the server, returning to the 62/64 player limits. This is due to the hard-coded limit of the BF2 server executable. This is being done to help the DEV team identify the source of the server-side PR crashes. While the 1.0.37 server-side python changes we've been testing since Friday seem to have helped reduce the number of crashes we experience, the issue has not been completely resolved. So, to further assist the team to stabilize the mod, we're running on the old EXE to see if the hacked 100-player PR EXE is part of the problem.

The Supporting Member script is enabled again as well. I had turned it off to see if there were crashed being caused by that script (there were not any crashes due to that script).

Please fill up the server today and let's help get some testing done so we can all enjoy playing on a stable server in the very near future.

Thanks!
dispo

Server was tested yesterday with the bf2.exe and crashed. Reset back to 100 player exe, new python files are loaded from dbzao. Please help us test the changes to stabilize the mod.

The server just crashed about 5 minutes ago. Fallujah West, full sever.

I haven't played a full game on the TG server since 1.0 update. Must be my luck :( lol.

Still a great server, no doubt.

Server crashed again. Fallujah West, and about the same length into the round as the last.

I hope it gets resolved. It would be really hard to go back to 64p servers.
