Just my 2 cents ...
Hind itself isn't great in helo v helo combat , it loses even to Cobra according to the tests . Though , it is best air-to-ground attack helo in the word because of huge number of missiles that it can carry , ability to carry shitload tanks with fuel inside of transport cockpit .
The body is heavily armored and the titanium rotor blades can resist impacts from .50 caliber (12.7 mm) rounds. The cockpit is overpressurized to protect the crew in NBC conditions. The craft uses a retractable tricycle undercarriage. As a combination gunship and troop transport, the Hind has no direct NATO counterpart.
During war in Afghanistan , the Hind proved effective and very reliable, earning the respect of both Soviet pilots and the Mujahideen, who scattered as quickly as possible when Soviet target designation flares were lit nearby. The Mujahideen nicknamed the Mi-24 as the "Devil's Chariot" due to its notorious reputation. One Afghan rebel said one famous quote "We do not fear the Soviets. We fear their helicopters."
Mi-28 , on other side , was created as a Russian answer to Cobra , Apache , Tiger and other tank hunter attack helos . Mi-28 main parts are armored against 23mm rounds , cockpit glass can stand to a 14.5mm direct hit .
KA-50 is mostly an anti-tank helicopter due to one-piloted design . Don't see any reason to add it ... it will be or over- , or underpowered .
I suggest to add missile pods to Mi-17 . Mi-8\Mi-17's are able to carry up to 6x20(80mm) or 6x32 ( 57mm ) missile pods . Making them direct ground supportes will be fine ..

Ture. They are not going to be sold outisde of Russia. I would like to see the MEC get a total make over to be more like a real life MEC. There vehicles should not be the latest in Russian tech. I mean common EA totaly dropped the ball here. BTR-90s are not for sale outside of Russia nethier are the current GAZ, and T-90s.77SiCaRiO77 wrote:they are for russians only
I think thier vehicle list should be more like this:
IFVs:
BMP-2
BMP-3
Mobile AA guns:
ZSU 23-4 Shilka
Heavy Jeeps:
Otokar Akrep: aka a real life Middile eastern made combat vehicle
Main battle tanks:
T-80: if you must give them something up to date give them this tank
T-72
Type-62
I mean if your going to have a army called the MEC why not do it right from the start? I think the current Russian vehicles would be better for the Russians to be added some time along the road.

Umm, this is incorrect. India has or will manufacture at least a thousand T-90s. Also, Algeria is taking an order of 180 T-90s.Gunwing wrote: not for sale outside of Russia nethier are the current GAZ, and T-90s.

Anyways, back to the Mi-24, get it in! Not as a replacement, but as an addition! Use the OPK one!

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

What countries is MEC supposed to be made up of?
The arabic states have a very broad range of equipment in real life, Iran is a good example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_Eq ... anian_Army, and thats probably the one with the most Russian influence in it's make-up, the rest are very Anglo-US equipment.
What they should have is the Cobra, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panha_2091 not the Mi-series, as they don't use them.
